Wilson's Tap — Restaurant in Boone

Wilson's was nothing short of a pleasantly colorful experience. We loved the shuffle board table (not many places have these anymore) and the wide variety of music being played by the local patrons. While I wouldn't eat off the floor here, I definitely drank my share of beer. Magnum (Mag-pie) the bartender was quick with the drinks and made them stiff! The women of the establishment were friendly, inviting, gracious and VERY informative. One even gave us an extra dollar to play more songs in the Jukebox! :) One regular, who took to us like a fly to honey, was wildly entertaining with her open minded conversations, warm embraces and aromatic scents to cover for some who had unfortunate gastric issues. The decor of this establishment was the perfect embodiment of comedy (don't finger the table sand) warmth (nostalgic decorations and antique finishings) and visual stimulation (wonderful photography in the men's restroom). There was plenty to do, with 2 pool tables, the shuffle board table (that may need to be re-leveled) slot machine style games and a generous area to dance. You may however, want to pre-arrange your post-imbibing transportation with a Lyft or Uber Driver as nobody wanted to pick us p at the end of the evening. I have no idea why!?!? Drinks are worth the visit... Nothing weak here! Tight group of locals but open to newbies so long as you can prove yourself worthy. Opens early & has great coffee, too! Pizza & chips available to curb your hunger pains along with candy bars and just for your convenience, cigarettes can be purchased, also. Bar games pay in tickets which can be exchanged for any item for sale in lieu of cash. Definitely an estranged family atmosphere where "the family" has got each other's backs... Less money spent on decor, with more money spent on the quality of alcohol... Drinks make it well...

I was the bartender there for 13 years. I can say I still say I enjoy going there. There is live entertainment daily (the customers) and the drinks truly are the BEST IN TOWN! (can't advertise it if it isn't true) I appreciate the feeling of family that exudes from all the customers. Regulars and newbies alike. They do Happy Hour Mon. - Thur. From 4pm to 6pm. Chips and candy bars plus the pizza is pretty good. So I recommend that you stop by and check this...
