Update #2: minus yet another star. No stars left to take away after this. Tried taking my mother who is visiting us here because she wanted to try the brown sugar milk tea (and this place really does have the best of that drink despite the excessive sweetness). Looks like online ordering is back but we went to order in person anyway. But at 2pm they were out of boba…… You are BOBA Xpress, serving boba drinks, yet you don’t have boba ready upon opening in the late morning and you run out of boba early in the day long before closing? Ended up leaving without drinks for yet another time. Only 1 employee working so the orders were very backed up anyway.
Took away another star because according to the employee I just spoke to on the phone while trying to place an order, due to new management policies that they will no longer be accepting phone or online orders. Simply don’t understand this at all. Especially since it is usually a fairly long wait for drinks to be made after they’re ordered, don’t think we will be going to this particular boba cafe anymore.
The atmosphere and the staff are nice. The drinks (we’ve only tried milk teas) are good but really much too sweet. We were going to try asking them to make the drinks less sweet at our latest visit but didn’t get the chance as we ended up not ordering due to boba not being available. Some low points: the menu is confusing as what is listed in store vs online vs online ordering is different. Descriptions are minimal and hard to find. We were told while we were in the store to check door dash for possible descriptions…. Also, they offer other drinks but this is a boba place, “BOBA Xpress”, yet they don’t offer boba from opening. We went in at 11am, already an hour after they opened I believe, and were told we would have to wait another 10-15 minutes to order if we wanted any boba in our drinks because the boba wouldn’t be ready… Understand that boba takes some time to prepare, but as the owners and employees understand this too, why not start preparing it a little earlier to have your main menu item available by...
Read moreBoba Tea is impossible to find in Shreveport. My wife and I are from San Francisco and have missed some of our staple favorites including Boba.
Boba Xpress used fresh flavors which allowed us to make our drinks half sweet. The staff was so awesome and let us taste our drinks before sealing to make sure they weren’t too sweet. The boba was perfectly cooked, not too hard and not too squishy, nice and chewy.
One of the owners was there on Saturday and let us know that they usually have freshest boba around noon.
I’m so so so excited to have a boba shop in town, close to us that’s actually great! I love the original black milk tea(kinda tastes like coffee), half sweet, medium ice with black boba (also called pearls). My wife loves Taro(tastes like fruity pebbles) half sweet, with regular ice with pearls, and my mother in law, new to boba, loved her coconut boba with pearls.
We tried the boba at N2O Puff which was a sad reflection of boba. They used powder for all of the teas which limited options to customize.
Can’t wait to come back for more! I’ve missed good boba and excited to support local business!
UPDATE Been back multiple times. Drinks have been consistent and the pearls have been perfect every time! Customer service is still great and the staff is still friendly! Wishing this...
Read moreI give this place a three because my first and only time coming here was not a good experience. A few months ago I took my teens and myself to try y’all out. There was lines on the floor pointing to which way the lines flow to order. The staff did not say anything about them so I followed the lines. Apparently this isn’t acceptable and another customer came in and got snippy with me and said, “Are you in line or what”? I told the other customer I was in line and he asked me rudely, “Well why aren’t you here?” He said this as he pointed to the register. I felt rushed and confused but the staff did not interject and I went on and ordered. I didn’t like what I ordered and wish I would have been told more about the menu especially since I told them it was my first time there. Sometimes first experiences are so bad you never want to go back. This is one of those experiences for me. The place is nice and clean and there was plenty of staff that is why you get a 3 star. If it was based on customer service and flavor of the tea you would get a 1. The staff heard how the other customer addressed me and they didn’t apologize or say anything about it. Honestly I was pretty embarrassed by...
