Maybe the other food on the menu is good but I didn’t enjoy what I got. Grilled catfish came with two tiny pieces of fish and sides you barely would noticed because of how little they give you. For the price you pay the portion doesn’t seem fair. I would say Sam’s southern eatery, a similar restaurant, is a much better place to spend your money if you want the same southern food they offer here at Kim’s.To be honest I didn’t expect much for the southern food when I walked in but, I had hopes for their Asian food and collectively that’s why I’m writing this review. K1 also known as the combo Pho had not just one but multiple hairs in the meat. Taste wise it was okay when My wife and I started eating (of course before we noticed the hairs) but we quickly lost our appetite as soon as we noticed. Chicken rice bowl, the chicken was too dry and again with small portions, not really much to enjoy. My recommendation to the restaurant try to be more generous with your portions and practice better hygiene. Lastly things I found positive. The young women working the cashier was welcoming and polite. The restaurant inside is spacious and looks live enough place to have a casual lunch or maybe dinner. Personally I don’t see myself returning here but if you want to risk it or you simply don’t care because you just want a quick bite by all means....
Read moreToday is the first time I’ve had an issue at this restaurant and I have been ordering here for years, since the restaurant opened after Hurricane Katrina. The customer service at the register was absolutely horrible! I happened to sit in for a second to take a phone call. Prior to leaving I asked for tartar sauce for my order. I’d gotten quite a bit of seafood and ask for enough to enjoy my meal. The person at the register sourly said it’s $1 extra per container, which are tiny, and told me I can swap my cocktail sauce, which I did with no complaint. I also noticed my salad was missing dressing, so I asked for this as well. He acted as if I was not telling the truth about that, so I opened the lid to show there was no dressing with the order. The restaurant also failed to put my shrimp in the order. Then told me that since I’d left they would do it this time, but not in the future(Partially my fault for not checking the entire order). Today was the absolute worst experience I’ve had here.. I’m not sure if there is new staff, but there is lack of detail to orders. I will not be visiting again for a while, but I recommend that you check your orders no matter how large to ensure you have everything, and be prepared for poor customer service and attitude...
Read moreI came in very optimistic because I had read a lot of good reviews about this place, but left very disappointed. Their crawfish was not seasoned at all and was so undercooked it tore my fingers up, I've never eaten crawfish and had my fingers get torn up. About half of what I bought was straight tails (dead before cooked) and many of the "good ones" were rubbery and gross. When I very politely asked for a refund or a partial refund for just what I hadn't eaten, the woman at the counter smiled at me in a very condescending way and pointed to a no refunds sign then said something to her friend in Vietnamese which is extremely rude, then continued to look at her phone, which all the employees are stuck on their phones the entire time, even serving food. No sorry or anything at all to try and make up for my $50 wasted. So I spent $50 on a disgusting meal and was treated very poorly, these people basically laughed at us. They also make you pay before you get the food, probably because they know they are doing people wrong, and then they can get you for the no refunds. Will never come here again. I wish I could give a no...
