We had a reservation on January 21st to celebrate a birthday for hibachi for 15 people at 6 pm. 12 of the guests arrived before 6 pm, the other 3 were there at 6:15 pm and told the host that the entire party was there. 15 minutes later we asked about being seated and were told that they we cleaning the grill for our table. At 7 pm we still were not seated and was told they were still cleaning the grill. At 7:10 pm, we were told they did not have a hibachi grill table for us but did have a table in the "sushi room" which was a large table in an enclosed area next to the handsome grill area so we accepted. At 7:35 pm, no one had come to greet us, acknowledge us or anything. I walked to the beverage area and asked to speak to a manager. I was asked by the server if there was anything they could help me with, I stated we had been at our table for 20 minutes with zero acknowledgement and she said she would be right there to get our drink orders. I said thank you and would still like to speak to a manager and went back to our table. 10 minutes later, our drinks arrived by were missing a couple of drinks and reminded the server of them. 15 minutes later (7:55 pm) the server came back to take our orders and did not have the other drinks for the rest of our party and at that time we asked for refills. At about 8:15, we went to the drink station and got our other drinks and drinks refills as we had not seen our server since she took our order. The manager still had not been to the table to talk with us. About 8:35 pm, our food stars coming to the table being delivered by the server, another server, the Sushi Chef, and the manager, however, we were missing 2 dishes for our table. 15 minutes go by and the server brings a dish but it doesn't belong to anyone at the table. By this time everyone else at the table received their meals and are done eating while this other guest still didn't have their food. I went to find to go boxes for our table as we were ready to leave. About 9 pm, the server brings the correct plate and we ask for our checks which again took about 10-15 minutes for her to separate as she had not asked in the beginning how the checks were split. There was an automatic gratuity added to the check which is stated on the menu for large parties (in not sure the exact amount of guests for the gratuity to be added). The food was good, the server was run raged as she had tables all over the restaurant, however the lack of support from her manager and the lack of planning on the restaurant made for an extremely subpar experience for us on this night. When the reservation was made it was made clear that the entire party must be present to be seated but we were never told that we wouldn't be able to have the hibachi experience we reserved...
Read moreA few work mates and myself ate at Kobe tonight in Shreveport. It was pretty good overall and pretty typical for a Hibachi style cook in front of you experience. The fried rice was pretty good but not the best, but the meat was really good. The cook seasoned everything well and we had big portions. I was a little worried at first because the two sauces offered were a mustard sauce and ginger sauce, neither of which I liked. Someone in my group asked if they had Yum-Yum and he said yes and pulled it out of the bottom of his cart. Nearly every other Japanese restaurant I've eaten at offers yum yum sauce first, and not offer the other two sauces that we were first offered. The mustard sauce is really strong and it would have to be something you developed a taste for. The ginger was pretty much your typical Ginger sauce. There are vegetables in the fried rice for those of you that do not like vegetables. Mostly onions, but a little carrots I believe if I remember correctly. Pricing is on the higher side for an average Japanese restaurant but not too bad. For example for a filet mignon and shrimp it cost roughly $36. Based on other Japanese restaurants I've eaten at in the South-East typically I would expect to pay around $30 for this Duo. So it is a little on the higher side in my opinion. I don't believe they upcharge for fried rice which sometimes can be anywhere from 2 to $4 per person more. The Hibachi meals come with soup, salad, your aunt Rhea meat that you choose, fried rice, and vegetables . Their water with lemon was pretty good and did not have an aftertaste so if your a water Drinker you should be safe to drink the water. The location is roughly 12 minutes from the airport if there is no traffic on...
Read moreI think i could have came at a bad time but it was still pretty bad. My table was seated directly in front of ac vents so for 1.5 hrs freezing cold air was blasting on my arms and back. The air was blowing so hard that when our chef finally made it to our table, the first “big fire” died in less than a second of being lit. It took 20 minutes from when our fried rice was made for me to get my chicken which by that time, because of the ac vents, my fried rice was ice cold. It took 15 after our table had finished our drinks to get refills. We also didn’t get our sushi until right before our fried rice was served. We waited 15 minutes after everyone got there to have our food ordered. The food was not seasoned that well, barely any salt or pepper (two little taps of both over a mound of rice). When we were all finally done and ready to leave we then had to wait another 10 minutes for her to take our money! All while the ac has not stopped blasting once. I definitely would not be...
