On the Sunday of 4th of July, they were open for business. First wow. Online, you can book a table, very convenient when you're desperately trying to patch together your travel plans. For a diner, technology is another wow. Believe it or not, many places in these areas don't even answer their phones, and this place answered my call within seconds, every time. And on this day in particular, we were struggling to even find an open sign...
I needed a reservation set for 8 people, which I was able to secure within a couple hours of calling, some kind of miracle. Ironically, I changed it to a party of two with advanced notice, they were more than happy to get me an earlier reservation with my smaller party to make the brunch menu on time. I got text confirmations, very reassuring if you're entire plans revolve around it. And everyone was so nice and snap-to-it when it came to getting things done, it makes you confident they'll be attentive to your needs.
The rest of my travel group went to a large chain without a wait time, (explaining the change of seating,) and I don't even want to tell them how bad they missed out. The food was phenomenal, service was quick, friendly, from the front door to the end, didn't feel rushed despite the fact they were clearly as busy as it gets. We left our iPhone 12 Pro Max somewhere in there, they had found it, we retrieved it, and in the process, they asked questions to make sure we weren't up to no good. Again, big wow. Thank you.
And the best part that you'd never expect? For me and my girlfriend, our entire bill came up to less than $50, after tax. 3 whole entrees and an orange juice. Plenty of leftovers. In a suburb of Boston. Another wow.
My only advice if you go, leave a big tip. Literally would give them 50 stars. Photos attached is French toast sticks and hangover skillet. Considering I saw probably 2 dozen orders of French toast being enjoyed around the room, it's amazing they make each one a work of art. That principle is echoed thru every aspect of their business. I could keep going. Consider this place a...
Read moreMeg,the manager on duty, was less than accommodating upon our arrival on 10/27/20. When my sister & I made our reservation, we were under the impression that there would only be 12 people attending. When we arrived, we saw that the parents with children brought their toddlers with them. We also arrived moments after some of our reservation arrived and walked into Meg being extremely aggressive due to the confusion. We apologized multiple times, instead of Meg trying to accommodate my family, she took this opportunity to reiterate over the heads with regulations as if we did not know we are amidst a pandemic. We understood that out the gate but she chose to drag the conversation out rather than being a solution-based manager. During this conversation, I asked her to step back from my sister and I, as she was overtly communicating with her hands & it felt aggressive to us. At this point, Meg still had no resolve for us and the restaurant was at less than 50% capacity which means that this could have been an easy fix for both parties involved. Instead, the toddlers were seated at a high top table that was barely visible to us. Because we didn’t find this to be a safe resolve, my brother and sister left the restaurant to drive 15 minutes to drop their children off at their grandparents home. While this took place, my family waited patiently to be met with a waitress and we did not meet her until about 25-30 minutes after our brother and sister left with the children. Once our waiter came and introduced herself, Cory, was very kind and had great customer service. I don’t plan on visiting this restaurant again which is sad because I’ve supported them since their opening in spite of their being little to no people of color working front...
Read moreI love Lucy’s. I have only come here a handful of times and each time has been delicious with great service. I’m giving three stars today because I unfortunately had a really bad experience this previous Sunday. My friend and I went in for a quick drink and nachos, but we left after an hour and a half of waiting for our food. It wasn’t even busy, our waitress just continued on forgetting to place our order. Both my friend and I work in the service industry so we understand the craziness that comes with Sunday service but the lack of service we received was honestly surprising. We ended up getting a second round of drinks, not because we wanted to but because we were waiting for so long for a single order of nachos because we continued on being reassured they were coming. About 35 minutes after the second time our waitress told us she forgot, we had to get another employees attention to cancel our order. As if being forgotten about twice wasn’t enough our waitress, Rose, made sure to give us attitude when bringing our bill over. Honestly everyone else seemed to be having great service and getting their orders in a reasonable amount of time. So I guess as long as you’re not in her area you’ll have a good experience. I really don’t like writing bad reviews unless I’ve been proven more than once that my bad experience is validated but I am still in shock at how bad our service was and how little multiple employees did to improve our experience. We were never offered one apology for our wait nor were we being checked on to make sure we were being taken care of, even after you could see on our faces how upset we were at...
