Ivar's Seafood Bar — Restaurant in Bothell

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this absolutely stunning restaurant, and let me tell you, it was an experience to remember! The ambiance was simply beautiful, creating the perfect atmosphere for a delightful meal.

Now, let's talk about the food. I decided to try their clams and fries, and oh my goodness, it was a match made in culinary heaven! The clams were incredibly fresh, bursting with flavor, and perfectly cooked. Paired with the crispy and golden fries, it was a combination that left my taste buds dancing with joy.

What truly impressed me, though, was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure that I had everything I needed throughout my dining experience. Not only that, but the food was served promptly, allowing me to enjoy my meal without any unnecessary delays.

One of the highlights of this restaurant is its location right by the water. It offers breathtaking views that add an extra touch of magic to the dining experience. Trust me, there's something truly special about enjoying a delicious meal while being surrounded by such natural beauty.

Rarely do I give 5/5....I'm like that. 😉.

But tonight I had just a great experience here. It was an icy Thursday evening, the threat of snow again keeping people at home. My wife and I walked in and were greeted by a lovely young woman, Kendall. She was all smiles.

She took our order of the True Cod and Chips. I commented that I liked her attitude and she said "This is a great place to work, truly. It's hard to be in a bad mood working here.". I love this.

We got our drink at the self serve soda machine and sat down. The restaurant was squeaky clean. Everything was spotless. Tables, chairs, seating all in great shape.

Christian brought our hot food with a smile too. He was one of the team here and he was going over tables, cleaning doors, making everything sparkle.

The food was almost too hot. Nathan (Cook) did a great job. The fish was perfectly done and crispy, the fries too. No greasy, old oil taste either.

I didn't expect this so I had to write a review. Three younger people working hard for customers, great food and I just needed to recognize this. Someone at Ivar's did a great job hiring these people and they are doing a great job holding up the value and quality of Ivar's.

In the matter of seven months this place has lost its taste and appeal. The place had four patrons in total and only the young lady at the counter was working along with one cook. The rest of the group just looked at you, averted their eyes away from the paying customer and NEVER smiled or said hello. Really??? Check the photo. At one point their were six out front in view of the small customer base without addressing anyone. Did I mention it was mid-week lunch hour? As to the food. It's now terrible! Ordered the fried shrimp tacos. It was over cooked, burned and the oil used tasted old. When was the last time they changed and cleaned the fryer???? It use to come with a small bag of chips now you receive a hand full of stale chips dumped on top of your order. How careless is this! I paid for this food, you did not pay me to enter this horrible place! What a waste. The final touch while waiting for this horrible food was that the tables and chairs had food crumbs all over them. Dirty much? The only cleaning in my view was near the counter where they handed your order over. To many chiefs and lack of quality make this place a NEVER AGAIN VISIT! Stay away and save...
