La Reina Bakery — Restaurant in Bound Brook

This place needs human warmth. The employees are dry and rude. I can usually establish small talk with anyone but it has been mission impossible to do that with the girls that work there. As far as the food, their bread is amazing. Chicharrón is a hit or miss but mostly very delicious. The empanadas are not worth your money, they tasémoos and the filling is basically potatoes. The sauce they give you is good and helps with the flavor. The have an oatmeal drink that is to die for! I can’t have enough of it. Even though they are over priced and inconvenient for not accepting cards I will continue to go because of that yummy oatmeal. Advice to management, be aware of the attitude you and your employees show customers, remember that customers are the reason you are in business. I smile...

Rudest most uneasy experience ever. The workers acted oblivious when I asked about CAKE. It's a bakery. I even pointed to the large poster they had of , you guessed it, cakes. Again stone cold stares and no answer. When I tried to simply order the Pastries and candy in and on the display case the staff refused to move. There was no one else in the bakery only us it was not busy. When I tried my hardest to communicate and support this local buisness I was told in front of my son "No, no Spanish". I'm assuming just because I could not speak Spanish and am not latina my money isn't good enough. I made multiple attempts to try and purchase their food and was treated like an unwanted outsider. The woman who helped us was extremely rude. Make sure you bring cash otherwise they will yell at you for not using their atm machine who charges you a convenience fee on top of your bank charging you for using a foreign atm machine. So if you are making a $10 purchase it will end up being a $16 purchase Then they have the nerve to say there are signs everywhere which is totally false the only sign other than their name is ATM inside Never coming back!
