Koi Asian Bistro — Restaurant in Bourbonnais

In town for work and craved some sushi. As the old saying goes, the further you get from the ocean, the worse the sushi gets. And Kankakee is about as far as you can get. With that said, these rolls were pretty decent and tasty. I would certainly suggest the veggie rolls. One, because you know the ingredients are fresh, and two because they are good. As we all know, eating high grade fish-laden sushi rolls is going to get more and more difficult as the oceans are over fished. Soon, climate change will make good sushi incredibly expensive, and cheap sushi that people in places like Kankakee Illinois will be able to afford will be really gross. Went here for the first time on a tuesday about 3pm. There was only us and 2 other tables occupied. Noticed 2 servers. There were no napkins or utensils had to ask our server 3 times. No biggie. What was surprising was my husband had a main course with soup included and i only had a small main course. He received his soup and moments later main course. I waited about 10 mins before flagging server down then she brought my meal about 20 min after my husband was served his main course. My husband was already almost done. Food was delicious but really wished we could've been served main course together. After getting bill had to go to front to give payment server didnt come back to pick up payment. Not sure if id risk going during dinner rush...otherwise wouldve...

I happened to be in town and decided to look for some restaurants in the area. This restaurant came up in my Google search, so I decided to give it a try because of the good reviews. When I pulled in the parking lot and saw that it was in kind of a strip mall, I started thinking that maybe this would be a hole in the wall type of place. To my surprise, I walked into this place with beautiful decor and it was so inviting. The hostess was friendly and greeted us with a smile.
