I was at East Wind on Sunday May 16th with my family. I ordered the "baked stuffed haddock with a baked potato and slaw. I was highly disappointed as my piece of haddock was small and wasn't fully breaded. My baked potato was also tiny and overcooked. The waitress said because the potato was so small thy gave me another side of coleslaw which was also tiny. My husband ordered the haddock O'grotten and wasn't happy either. The portion was very small including the potato, which was also overcooked, and slaw was tiny as well. The cheese they used on the haddock O'grotten was flavorless and you could tell it was cheap cheese. We were very dissatisfied with the taste and portion of these meals. I went back inside to order something else and explained to the cashier that we weren't happy with the meals we ordered and all she said was "sorry". She didn't get the manager or ask how the restaurant could make it up to us. She acted as if she really didn't care. We were originally headed to Lindsey's down the road and they hadn't open for the season yet. We were highly disappointed in East Wind's food and won't...
Read moreI debated on my rating here. The outdoor dining area is great, overlooking the water, though the occasional commuter train sometimes disturbs the mood. Service is great and friendly if a bit frantic (we were there on a busy Saturday evening. The food was good, seafood fresh, but in total not spectacular. The "chips"/french fries were really average commercial, though the sweet potato fries looked homemade (I didn't get to try them though) You order at the counter, and if there's a line outside the door, don't worry, it moves quickly. You then find your table and they bring your food to you. The lobster salad/lobster roll was competent, and fairly generous. Not exactly bargain priced, but hey, it's the cape. My wife really enjoyed her fish and chips, they seem to have the batter and the fry just right. Likewise on the calamari. The nightly specials did seem a good deal, with significant discounts on things like scallops, and roasted salmon. Overall I liked the experience, and wouldn't mind going back if I didn't want to try...
Read moreThe food was okay I thought the clam chowder was decent, my wife not so much. The first thing we noticed about this place is that there was very little heat there's very cold being it's November it was kind of to be expected but I figured it'd be a little bit warmer in there than it was outside. I'm not sure if they were getting ready to close down for the season or not but it wasn't very busy and they didn't have everything that was listed on the menu. I think my biggest complaint was that when you order a lobster dinner you kind of expect it to be more than just a lobster, I was expecting at least fries or something all I got was a lobster and butter ,that was it and apparently market price is $23, so for $23 I got a lobster which I could have easily gone to the grocery store and gotten and made the same thing myself for a fraction of the cost. So my suggestion to them is that they include some kind of sides with it to make it at least worth it. I will say that the lobster I had...
