went to try fishing at 5am. I was the 10th person there, but still found a spot to try casting. did spin fishing down on the rocks on outgoing tide with no luck. the area near the train bridge is very deep off the rocks so you can't go down and wade out. there was marsh/estuary area on the end which I did wade all the way across. perfect for fly fishing with casts into an outgoing tide. be cautious because the current rips out of there and you can get in trouble quickly. you will not have this place to yourself, no matter what time you try, so just know that...

Quick access once you're off the bridge, plenty of parking whenever I arrive, and direct access to not only the Cape side of the canal trail, but front row viewing for the railroad bridge and a railway level crossing.
