First time trying Cuban food. This establishment did not disappoint.
I ordered fried plantains, which I haven't had since college. They were cooked perfectly.
For my main dish, I ordered the Vaca frita, which is a shredded flank steak marinated for hours before served with your choice of either congri (black beans and rice) or white rice with beans. It also comes garnished with a few slices of tomato and some cabbage.
Also ordered was the masa de puerco, which was fried pork with congri and garnished the same way as mine was. It is described as authentic as you can get here in kentucky.
After speaking with one of the owners, she said everything is made from scratch. You can really tell they don't cut corners.
On Friday and Saturday nights, there is dancing at the bar after 9pm. There is also unlimited free pool, which I find interesting.
Overall, a great experience. It is a little off of russellville road, so I'd recommend putting it in your GPS. Definitely will be back, and recommend you try it as...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went early on a weekday, they were slow but we were dining early for dinner. Manuel was very kind and answered the few questions that we had. Pito was our server and he was equally kind and made our experience fun. They were out of pork as Manuel said they were waiting on an order. Iām cool with a place that has high standards for suppliers and wonāt compromise quality. Our food was delicious, I was going to get pork but went with whatever they suggested. Ordered a Mojito - simple drink, but oh my goodness this one was GREAT. They use Yerba Buena, like mint but not. So good and aromatic. I can tell they donāt sacrifice quality authentic ingredients they serve if they are picky about their mint / herb choices. We look forward to going back. Some of the other reviews here are a bit harsh, you should see for yourself what this place has to offer. Iām as white as sliced bread and I feel they were kind and welcoming to me and my spouse. Iām glad they are part of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStumbled upon this place trying to have lunch the Saturday after Thanksgiving and every place seemed to be closed. Unfortunately a few items weren't available to bus due to them not being prepared or ready, but there was zero disappointment once we started eating. The food was absolutely delicious (I highly recommend the Palomilla Steak and the Ropa Vieja, the Bistec A Caballo was also very good) and the mojito hit the spot as well. Music was a tad loud, but they turned it down for us upon request (dad's hearing aid was making it much worse for him than the rest of us) but I wouldn't have minded if they didn't. All in all, a great experience and the food was on point, I would definitely go back if I'm in...
