UPDATED REVIEW: (4/5) The burger: After trying 2 more times the quality has improved a fair amount. By no means is it the pinical of smash burger but we are definitely in the territory now. It's firmly into a 4 out of 5 for price and quality. The crispy chiken sandwich: Oh man they are very close to something pretty amazing. The chicken is battered and i think that's the only thing holding it back. It was hardy and so juicy but that batter held just a bit to much grease and fell apart. Short of that the slabs of tomato mine came with were a little unripe but these are both super easy fixes. (4.5/5) The fries: Unfortunately these are still a bland letdown I would pass. (2/5) The icecream: I have only ordered malts but I have had 4 now and it's been completely different every time. They just need to implement some work instructions. (3.5/5) Notes: The chips are alright but honestly they detract from the burgers and the chicken which are both getting pretty good. ORIGINAL REVIEW: (3/5) Food Review: The food is just alright and is 3/5 stars. I got a burger and fries. The burger wasn't dry but it lacked a lot of "smash burger" qualities. There was no sign of a crust like you would expect and the patty was seasoned with some sort of seasoning that just didn't belong. The bun was a bit yeasty and just a lot for the single patty of meat to contest with. The fries were crinkle cut fries that were a bit greasy and honestly about on point with store bought frozen fries you might make at home in the oven. Business tips: For what its worth here is my advise should the owner or manager check the reviews. The POS appears to be to complicated. When I see an employee tap the screen 20 times to ring up a cheeseburger with fries and a shake that's to much. I understand trying to keep prices low but you have stripped so much back that most customers will now be adding back on both complicating ordering and worsening the customer experience. Last, please buy bigger straws for shakes nobody enjoys struggling to suck their shake through a tiny straw.

Honestly a pleasant surprise. At first sight the food was mediocre. But I was wrong. The food came out looking crispy and delicious. Although the batter on the chicken felt undercooked in some places, the fries were crispy and enjoyable. Usually I find that crinkle cut fries are soggy. But not here! Not only that but the soda is locally made! And provides a new refreshing drink choice when picking your soda.

A solid 4 stars on the double cheese burger that I ordered for pick up at 2pm on a Tuesday. The food was ready right on time. I really like the smiling face of the lady that greeted me at the counter. It’s nice to have regular hours and what appears to be consistent food service at this venerable location in the heart of downtown BC. Congrats! Keep up the good work

I don’t normally leave negative reviews but this place earned one. My wife and I stopped in today to each order a small soft serve ice cream in a cup with whipped cream. We were shocked to hear that 2 simple ice creams came to more than $9. We paid and then asked the teenage girl working at the counter about the price. She explained that if you add ANYTHING, it’s considered a sundae which means it will automatically cost about $1.50 more…and then they charge you another $.50 for each topping including the whipped cream. If charging me $2 per cup just for a small squirt of whipped cream wasn’t bad enough, then the paper receipt showed that it had rung it up at $1 for the topping on each cup. We showed her the paper menu and she simply shrugged and said nothing. We left confused. At no time did we get upset or make a scene. We immediately called the store from our car and asked for the manager. She gave us the same story about how adding anything gets the sundae price and then a charge for each topping. The manager did admit that the girl told her our complaint about the price difference on the topping and that she would gladly refund our credit card for the $1 difference. Had we just ordered 2 small soft serves it would have cost us less than $4.00. This whole experience was just so wrong on so many levels. I guess it comes as no surprise that we won’t...

I was going to leave a 2 star until I saw one of the co-owners, Jessica Kinner left a 5 star review on her own restaurant - VERY TACKY !! Hopefully they read their reviews and she will be smart enough to take it down FOOD: ordered a $6.25 burger, asked if I wanted lettuce, tomato, pickles said yes, as that is how burgers come in restaurants. THEY CHARGED $1.00 for lettuce/tomato & .25 cents for 3 pickles so my $6.25 burger cost $7.50 ......NO WHERE ON MENU DID IT LIST THOSE ITEMS AS XTRA CHARGES WHEN I LOOKED AT MENU. The lettuce had black spots on it, took it off the burger and the tomato was a raw slice of greenhouse tomato, also took that off. IF A RESTAURANT IS GOING TO CHARGE FOR DEAD TOPPINGS THEY NEED TO LIST IT ON THE MENU. I cannot believe they even put those items on, lettuce was bad and tomato raw. The BURGER itself was about 1/2 the size of the bun. I can't believe the good reviews they are getting on these burgers - truthfully a BK whopper tastes just as good and are larger - I will not be going back there again, very...
