First visit here. My partner and I both got burgers. She got whatever the classic burger was on a gluten free bun, no tomato and she asked for her onions caramelized.
I went with the “Chef’s special” which was the Olive Burger also on a gluten free bun.
Let’s talk about the gluten free buns. I’m glad they’re available at this restaurant, though I’m not sure what brand they buy, but they’re incredibly dry. Not gonna complain too much there though because at least they HAVE GF options and a lot of times they can be hit or miss. The burgers however are listed on their menu as having four 2oz smash burger patties and obviously whatever toppings come standard on each burger.
My olive burger was supposed to have “LOTS” of green olives on it but there were only 6. The only reason I would know this is because as I was cutting my burger in have it came apart. And there were only 3 patties and like part of another. All incredibly dry. With not much flavor.
For $15.49 PLUS $3.49 for the GF bun it was not worth it to me. I don’t have a gluten allergy like my partner but I like to get GF where I can- but I could get a WAY better Olive burger from Halo Burger any day of the week and it wouldn’t cost me almost $20 for a burger and fries.
We also got waffle fries which are and additional $3.50 which weren’t great either.
My partners burger patties were also dry! (and bun but not necessarily the restaurants fault) and her onions were burnt, not caramelized.
Too expensive for dry burgers. Hopefully if I come back somebody else will me manning the kitchen.
Our waiter however was excellent! I forget his name but he had all the...
Read moreVisited Boyne City for a mini-vacation..... this restaurant is located right across the street from the condo where we stayed. Food smelled wonderful. Not sure if this was an “off-night”... but not happy with our experience, or lack thereof......... Waited about 15 minutes to be seated.... no big deal. Hostess was friendly and attentive... browsed the menu while we waited so we would be ready to order as soon as we were seated. When we were seated, hostess said who our waitress would be and that she would be there to take care of us soon.. waited 15 minutes and still no sign of waitress... Watched a few tables of patrons be seated after us... saw them order/receive drinks.... and order food. After waiting 15 minutes got up and left. Informed hostess of our experience and stated we would not be back. Unacceptable to be “forgotten” after being seated. Walked across the street for ice cream and were promptly informed by locals that this establishment has gone down hill since new ownership. We should have known something was “off” when we were seated as the table next to us received incorrect food order and were not...
Read moreMy wife and I went there for dinner tonight. Their menu selection was not the largest, but it seems most places nowadays don't have a very large menu. I ordered the grilled cheese that comes with soup, I asked to substitute the soup with fries and was still up charged the full amount for fries even though I did not get soup. (Basically paid $12 for a grill cheese and waffle fries). The sandwich was great, the waffle fries on the other hand, where as hard as my wife's burnt chips. She ordered the pulled pork sandwich, and said the sandwich was great with the exception of the chips tasting like they were burnt.
The hostess at the front did not have very good customer service skills at all. We had told her it was for a party of two, and she basically grab two menus and started to walk away. Not telling us to follow her or if she was checking on a table or anything.
The waitress was average, did seem to take a while to pay my bill though.
We live here locally, and definitely have ZERO intention of going back there again. With how many restaurants are within walking distance, there are plenty of...
