This is going to be a weird review because both my wife and I ordered the same BBQ rib dinner. Mine was great, while hers was burned to a black crisp. Honestly. I was oblivious at first because I was hungry and my dinner was just fine so I was gobbling it down when I noticed my wife was just picking at her meal. What’s the matter I asked? She turned the ribs over and the slab was like charcoal. I could not find our waiter so I mentioned it to the cook staff. They told me to tell the waiter. I could tell that they thought I was exaggerating. Finally I got the manager over and he started saying that their ribs go through various checks, etc. I turned over the ribs and he started stammering all over the place. He brought my wife a slab that was not burned, and to his credit I did see him show the burned ribs to the cook staff. By the time the ribs came the meal was over so wifey took the ribs home. Also, our waiter was new. I asked for sour cream with the baked potatoes. When the bill came our waiter had charged us for “extra sauce “ for the sour cream. He also charged us both extra charges for french fries. When I pointed out that we had not ordered or received fries our waiter asked if we wanted the incorrect charges removed. Yes please I said. After all this I know what you’re thinking. Did I leave a tip? Yes I did because 1) my meal was good and 2) my wife would NEVER allow no tip/low tip no matter the experience. Hey like I said, my...
Read moreWe were pretty excited and hungry as we arrived. We got the back room, a former vault room, and thought that was unique ...and the first and last cool unique thing to happen for our lunch. Staff was slow to get to us, even though we were assured someone would be right with with twice. Once our order was taken drinks arrived in an acceptable time frame and then we were not checked in on for 10+ minutes. When staff returned we asked for refills which took over 5 minutes then we made use of the kiddy menu and tried to solve a word find. The word find turns out we were told has 3 words on the find list that were forgotten to be taken off. Not even a laugh or apology about that, weird - not cool weird. Then 45 minutes after our order the food came and it was cold, under cooked (medium rare burger) or over cooked (well done). A reorder on one burger as the rest of us were hungry enough to eat it now, the order came back under cooked but was warm this time. The fries are good here but the brown ale is less than average. Nothing more than short apology on our order and charged full price. Waah-waaaaaaah... I hear they have good live music on weekend and mix strong drinks but do not recommend...

If you’re in Boyne City and NOT stopping at Stiggs Brewery & Kitchen, you might want to reconsider your life choices. This place doesn’t just serve food and beer—it serves happiness on a plate and in a pint glass.
I started with the Stiggs Hay Burner beer, and let me tell you, it’s aptly named. It’s so smooth and flavorful that it could probably fuel a hay burner (and me) all day long. It’s got that perfect blend of hops and magic that makes you feel like you’re drinking pure Michigan vibes.
Then came the brisket sandwich, and OH MY GOODNESS. This sandwich didn’t just feed me—it hugged my soul. The brisket was tender, smoky, and piled high like it was trying to one-up the beer (spoiler: they’re both winners). Paired with whatever they’re doing in that kitchen wizardry-wise, it was a culinary mic drop.
The atmosphere? Relaxed but buzzing with energy. The staff? Friendlier than your grandma after you compliment her pie. The food and drink? Unforgettable.
10/10 would recommend to anyone who loves good beer, great food, and better company. Stiggs isn’t just a brewery—it’s...
