Iâve never eaten Hatian or Carribean food until now, but it seems Margoâs was a great place to start. We came for a late dinner on Thursday, and everything we tried was delicious, which included a calamari appetizer, fried goat, vegetable stew (contains some meat), spicy coleslaw (picklee), fried plantains, an ample serving of âdiri ak pwaâ (haitian style rice/bean side), and a green salad. Everything was so good, but we really fell in love with the picklee and fried goat. So much so, that we return the following week for a repeat. They must have been out of calamari, so the substituted with some tasty fried scallops. Margoâs also has a full bar with cocktails, wine and beer. And around 9pm, the place turns into a nightclub (at least on Thu), and they feature entertainment by local jazz guitarist Wilson Pierre and his friends. Iâm not sure of the details of Wilsonâs musical background but he is definitely talented and well versed in jazz and classical guitar. He performed many jazz standards, some incredibly fast riffs by Al Demiola, and a even a few Carribean jazz adaptations like the Ritenour/Grusin version of Bob Marleyâs, âGet Up, Stand Upâ. If you love good food and smooth jazz, you need to visit Margoâs this Thursday for a real treat. Well definetly be there.
P.S. I saw a couple of reviews that attempted to trash this place. I assure you they are FAKE users. Itâs someone trying to hurt this establishment for their own selfish reasons. Check and you will see they have NO other reviews. Another post claimed they got food poisoning here. No way! Margoâs is super clean, plus go to the Mayo Clinic site and youâll see that many people assume their last meal is why they fell ill, yet food sicknesses incubates over 1 to 3 days before one feels ill. Most people that blame restaraunts for their symptoms actuall poisoned themselves in their own home. ...
Read moreOn Thursday evening, June 5, 2025, I had the pleasure of dining at Margoâs Kitchen Restaurant alongside my wife, two of my sisters, and one of my brothers-in-law. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed, and the exceptional level of hospitality set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The staff were attentive and courteous, making sure every guest felt comfortable and well taken care of. It was clear that customer satisfaction is a top priority at Margoâs Kitchen.
The food was absolutely outstandingâauthentic Haitian cuisine prepared with care and rich in flavor. Each dish we ordered was well-seasoned, beautifully presented, and left us thoroughly satisfied. To enhance the dining experience even further, Thursday night happened to be Jazz Night, featuring the smooth and soulful sounds of Wilson Pierre and his talented ensemble. Their live performance created a vibrant, joyful atmosphere that made the evening feel extra special.
What stood out most was the genuine involvement of the restaurant owners. They were not only present but actively engagedâpersonally helping serve dishes, checking on guests, and ensuring everyone was enjoying themselves. Their pride and passion for both the food and the culture were evident in every detail.
I am incredibly proud to support and recommend this gem of a Haitian restaurant. Margoâs Kitchen is more than just a place to eatâitâs a cultural experience filled with warmth, flavor, and community. I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to visit and see for themselves what makes this...
Read moreWalked in for a takeout order and immediately got a negative vibe from an older woman. There had already been confusion about the order, so we politely asked to confirm what was in the box before paying â a completely reasonable and common request with takeout. Actually places willingly show you whatâs in there before paying during take out so customer confirms this is what they ordered.
Instead of being professional she snapped, âWe donât do that here,â and continued to make us uncomfortable throughout the interaction, constantly returning to us when she heard us talking to each other. We tried to brush it off, but the tension was obvious. We paid just to avoid further conflict and noticed she was training someone. We didnât eat the food and looking at other reviews Iâm glad we didnât .
Thankfully, there are plenty of other establishments with great customer service. We consider still paying for that meal a form of charity â maybe it can go toward addressing her easily triggered attitude. We hope she doesnât spread that to new workers. In the hospitality industry, ego should be left at the door, especially over a reasonable, innocent requestâ for take out??
Judging by other reviews from dissatisfied customersâthis behavior or bad service isnât new. I wonât expect understanding or accountability within her response. It doesnât matter how good or bad food is , customer service is major. Not every...
