I tried this place for the first time this week after much anticipation from following them on Instagram. I was super excited to support a small business and try their valentine's seasonal drink. To start the place barely fit the 5 customers that were there, the cashier and the batista were not friendly and did not seem to be happy to assist customers. In fact, the customer who came after me waited 10 minutes to order. I ordered the seasonal Rosé iced Latte, which was ok, but not much rose flavor. Then I asked if I could order the iced matcha but have them blend it. The cashier looked confused, so I advised her they serve smoothies, so could you put the matcha in the blender with the ice and milk and just make it that way. She said hold on, asked the batista who turned looked at me with a nasty face when she asked her and said no to the cashier. The cashier came back and said, "we're not allowed to". It's fine if you can't but the way the staff acted was enough of a turn off for me to know I didn't like this place because the staff was just not friendly. Also, it's a common ask and way to make this matcha drink, so to look at me with disgust was startling. I ordered a blended smoothie on their menu instead since that's all they're allowed to blend apparently. It was okay, but way over priced for what it was.
I tried reaching out to the Instagram account privately via direct message to provide my feedback about only the matcha and in a comment under one of their old posts. They didn't respond and deleted my comment, which only asked them nicely to please consider offering the matcha blended as an option. Shows the same attitude and approach to customers online as I received in person by this coffee house and chain. We won't be going back, not recommending it to anyone after seeing how they handle customers and feedback. Thus why I decided to give my full experience with the store. There are plenty other small business coffee shops in the area I'll be giving our...
Read moreI hope my review is helpful for those traveling to visit this location. We drove 1 hr 15 min to this spot and there was not any visible restroom. When I asked if they have a restroom, the young lady pointed across the way to a restaurant in the vicinity, and told me that I could go there. I feel like that is quite unethical because I am supporting this restaurant not that restaurant, and to expect them to let me use their bathroom I feel is a stretch. I think the food here is excellent and the Matcha was fantastic, but if you are expecting to be able to sit down here, there is no indoor seating except for a small bar with 2 barstools. I was under the impression that I would be able to sit down inside, but we were not able to. We had to sit outside. When I ordered my drinks and pastries, I was told that they would be bringing them out to me. We waited for several minutes eating the salad that we got from the cold refrigerator. I decided to go back inside to see if possibly they may have forgotten about us, and yes they did. Everything was done, just sitting on the end of the bar for who knows how long before I discovered it. Whoever was serving us told us the wrong thing, giving us the expectation that they would be bringing the food out to us when that was really not the case at all. It would’ve been much better if they could’ve told us that our food would be waiting at the end of the bar. Then we would’ve known to come back in to look for it sooner.
Definitely if you are considering this restaurant to sit down and enjoy a sit down experience, I say think again. If you would like to pick something up and take it to the beach, or come here after the beach for a smoothie or matcha, that would be more fitting. The service is not what I was expecting at all. If I re-visit, it will be a grab and go...
Read moreI have to agree with the reviews about service. I’ve been here twice. The first visit I would’ve rated it 3.5-4 stars - the food was pretty good (though it isn’t fresh, it’s heated up) and the atmosphere was cute. An entire point was removed for the attitudes of the staff.
Maybe it’s cheaper to hire high school / college kids but they need some serious training on customer service. The first time I visited, I felt like I was just generally unwelcome. I shrugged it off because I enjoyed my meal.
Today I went to pick up some food. The staff were all talking so the girl at the front had her back to me. When I walked in, she looked almost annoyed that I was there 😂 She handed me my food and I left. My bacon egg and cheese was burnt. The croissant was hard and the cheese was rock solid stuck to the inside of the croissant. My cinnamon roll was hard. This food is PREMADE. There is no reason there should be any variation in how it’s heated up. Burning the food should be impossible… but they found a way. I requested napkins in my online order and they placed 2 single napkins in my bag for a 3 food item order. Honestly, you’re better off...
