As a Hollywood film and television producer and a passionate speaker on sustainability in the entertainment industry, my travels often take me to Bradenton, Florida, for business. During these visits, I’ve discovered a true gem in The Toasted Yolk Cafe, where I’ve become a regular for breakfast and lunch. This establishment’s warm, welcoming atmosphere is not only a delight but also a blessing, aligning perfectly with my values of fostering meaningful, sustainable connections. From my first visit, the staff embraced me like family, making every moment special. Megan, Melissa, John, Jimmy, Amy, and the entire team, along with managers Audra and Darren and the gracious hostesses, have created an environment that feels like home.
The menu is exceptional, with something for everyone, but I can’t resist the Reuben sandwich—a perfect blend of thinly sliced pastrami, tangy Thousand Island dressing, and melted Swiss cheese, all served on grilled rye bread. I pair it with a refreshing cup of fresh fruit, though the options of fries, sweet potato fries, side salad, soup, or hashbrown casserole are equally enticing. The food quality rivals the finest steakhouses and diners owned by my friends in New York City, and the service is simply outstanding. Megan’s vibrant energy and Melissa’s attentive care as both bartender and server elevate every visit. I was thrilled to capture a moment with Megan, whose warmth truly shines.
For someone like me, who champions sustainability and community in the entertainment world, finding a place like The Toasted Yolk Cafe is a rare and cherished experience. It’s more than a restaurant—it’s a haven of hospitality and connection. I wholeheartedly recommend this incredible spot to everyone in Bradenton. Thank you to the entire team for your remarkable warmth and for making me feel like part of the...
Read moreI came in because of the good reviews. My server was great and attentive. The food was not. Especially for the price. The Arnold was ok and I ate it all. The salmon could have come off the pan a minute or 2 beforehand. The hash was tiny and it looked thrown on the plate and over cooked or left on the warmer too long. The portions are amazingly tiny to be put on a giant plate. I looked around and every one else's plates looked full. I asked about the hash and my concern and also that I saw a fruit cup in a picture online that came with the dish. She said it was only for the picture online. She saw my disappointment and brought me a fruit cup. Like I paid $18. Ive paid less for more. I dont drink or drink coffee so I want to have a good hearty meal when I go out and pay $30 Also my sweet tea was not sweet it was for a diabetic person.
Server was good. But I was disappointed at the presentation and portions and dried out hash glop.
update from after the response from resturant*
Your response is insulting. Give a refund Or give a sincere apology. I had concerns and complaints at the resturant. You could have fixed it then. My complaints were valid. And I saw the fruit cup in a review picture. So it was supposed to come...
Read moreFirst of all, have a seat. There's so much good to say that I might get a bit long-winded.
Now, you need to know that I usually consider dining out for breakfast to be something of a waste because breakfast dishes are typically very easy to make. But that's the thing about The Toasted Yolk. It's simply not typical.
But, before I get to the food, let me just say that Nora is a hoot. She is totally reminiscent of an old school diner waitress, but with the knowledge and skill of a Michelin server. I just got the vibe that if I were a cook, I wouldn't want to mess up anything going to one of her tables. Jus' Sayin'
The food.
I'm totally torn because our benedicts were so amazing that I could be tempted to eat the same thing every day, but it would mean not exploring the rest of their intriguing menu.
(I got the Southwest Benedict; my wife got the California Benedict. Then we swapped one of each so both of us tried both. Both tasted like I'd never really had breakfast before)
Finally, what was truly remarkable was looking at the diverse clientele. Young and old and every ethnicity. Tables of two and two different groups larger than 10 with no compromise on service because of the large parties.
Can't wait to...
