I live right around the corner from this place. I tried it once and it was nothing compared to up north bagel shops. My husband and I are natives from NY & NJ. This place cannot compete in NY then they say NY style. I ordered a simple sausage egg and cheese on a roll with salt pepper ketchup. While i was waiting for the rest of my order i decided to open my sandwich. To my surprise there is bacon and no sausage in site. I kindly asked to check my receipt because i did not receive one. They went back to check and sausage was placed in my order. The young girl asked me if i touched the sandwich. At this point i was appalled because they took it back to sell to someone else. Absolutely disgusted they switched my sandwich. Now if i go to a chain store like Dunkin they will tell me to keep it cause they can't take it back. Especially in todays world with evolving COVID strains... Man if i could have left less than 1 star i would have.
On top of that my husband asked to substitute the hashbrown for fries. The cashier blatantly said no when we've substituted in the past. We also told her we didn't mind to pay the difference. We requested the eggs to be sunny side up and the yolk not runny. I guess in florida they don't know the difference between runny yolk and cooked yolk. We waited another 15 mins and get home.. What a waste. Toast is supposed to be hard and crunchy our toast was flimsy and soft and barely golden slathered in butter. As you can see in the pictures.
Will not recommend nor will be coming back. I support local businesses that cater to paying customers. I cannot support this business if the main interest is production and throwing any type of food on a plate. Its the quality and standard of care for me.
Oh, and they charge extra if you use...
Read moreBeing from up north and eating great bagels from NY and NJ very often... this place is not that great. Ordered 4 bagels, everything and plain with cream cheese, a plain with pork roll egg and cheese, and a sesame with bacon egg and cheese.
The bagels were not fresh at 11am, they were a little stale and very dry. The plain and sesame didn't look like the bagels from up north but the everything bagel did (just was more salty than I remember). The cream cheese was decent (not as good as the cc from the places I went to) but very soft and fluffy so it all came out of the bagel. The BEC and PREC contents were individually good but barely had any inside the bagel (1 egg, 1 peice of pork roll, 1 cheese, 2 small strips of bacon...could have just been 1 bacon split in half). So you couldnt taste anything inside. But if you ate it, without the bagel, it was very good and cooked to order. But since the bagels are not very good and overpowering due the little amount of ingredients inside, we were still disappointed with these.
They did give us hashbrowns which was the best part of the breakfast. So, I think we might give them another chance down the road... but not any time soon. Hopefully they can improve their bagels some more.
UPDATE: just came back from vacation, went to NJ and NY. The bagels of uncle nick's are nothing like the bagels from up north. The bagels up north had 4 slices of pork roll and bacon (compared to nick's 1) . The cream cheese from up north is about a 1/2 inch thick layer. And most importantly the quality of the bagel itself is so poor at Nick's (I prefer Thomas Bagels better). So they claim to be NY bagels but anyone who knows NY bagels knows this place is nothing like it and frankly, this place is giving NY bagels a...
Read moreI've enjoyed really tasty bagels here. (I won't argue how NY-like they are, they're just delicious, well made bagels.) The service is fine. Better than expected given shortages in (decent) help these days, so I've been rather pleased. I'm shocked to see some of the, quite frankly - whiny, 1-star reviews and I hope others will try for this place themselves. Small businesses need help to keep going, growing and improve. If people just bash away frivelously, we'll end up with nothing but corp run Starbucks and Dunks. If you see something wrong, help an owner out by telling them directly. Most want to improve and give great serve. They welcome feedback to make things right for all. If the owner doesn't show concern, then bash away with a negative review that helps others know the true temperature of a place. But help us all to have nice places to dine by giving the owner a chance when things are amiss or lacking. Not rush to your keyboards. So many angry spoiled keyboard...
