Zeko's Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in Bradenton

This is more of a fast food type Greek food restaurant. You order at the counter, but can eat in or take out (there’s also a drive-thru). The food is great, and we have generally always had a good meal here. The Greek salad is excellent, while the gyros are great. More tzatziki sauce in the gyros would be better, but at least the pitas are soft and warm and the meats are good. The fries are decent. What could be improved is the service and prices. My first time visiting, I had a few questions and the staff member was impatient and non-communicative. I kept having to ask the same questions, and even when I asked about their salad sizes, it wasn’t the right answer when I went to pay. I had ordered a small Greek salad, and was still charged for a large one, but they did give me the small size. While annoying, it wasn’t worth arguing. There were also little things that were aggravating - they only gave me two ketchup packets. When I asked for more, they gave me just another two more. Why be so stingy? Same for the Greek salad dressing, which was more oil than dressing. When we asked for more, it was an up charge. Overall, we did enjoy our meals, but not sure it’s worth the hassle each time. We have returned back to eat at this place more than once, but have since ordered to go each time so we wouldn’t have to deal with the poor...

This was my 1st time ordering from Zeko's. I waited at the window well over 5 mins. I said hello a few times and then finally got an answer. I ordered a #8 Steak sandwich with fires and a Siera Mist. I was told my "order was $13.90". I get to the window and I wait..... and wait.... and eventually someone came to the window to take my money. I received my food , but not the drink so I let the person know. She told me "they no longer have Sierra Mist, which was fine and that they had Sprite in the glass bottle." "I said glass is fine as long as the price doesn't go up", and she went to get my drink. She came back and before handing me drink she said "it'll be another $2 and some change and that she hadn't charged me for the drink because she didn't hear me after asking if I wanted anything else with the #8 "and I said" yes, a Sierra Mist please," she gave me my final price and I drove forward. I declined the drink because I felt that $14 was wY more than enough for food and a drink. Fries were mediocre and poorly seasoned, sandwich was not too bad, but definitely not $14 worthy WITHOUT a drink. This as my 1st and final visit. No receipt was ever given to even notice that I hadn't been charged for a drink.

Went with a group of family and friends after my son's Raiders competition. Only a few other customers in lobby but constant traffic in the drive-thru so it is not as if they were not busy. Customer service was friendly and helpful while placing the order. Menu offered a pleasant selection. Not overly large (a bloated menu is often a warning sign) with a variety of options, including healthier side items for meals. Kitchen got right to work. All orders came out together and were fresh which was impressive because of the size of our party. Two of the children ordered chicken strips which were excellent and were definitely breaded by hand. These were not the frozen, pre-prepared strips typically encountered. The gyros were excellent as well as were the hand-cut homestyle fries (again, not frozen and pre-cut). The group of us, as a whole, were very impressed with the food, prices, portions and service. My son and I have returned several times and have never been...
