2nd Update: Just by your response I can say once again how rude you were. Your Server came back to the table with a list of food items and said he would go get them after the first plate was delivered. I can not eat off a buffet due to Transplanted organs a medical condition that does not allow eating cross contaminated foods. I was walking back from the rest rooms when I saw you not getting anything off the buffet tables but did look to see if there was anything I might ask for but decided against since we would be going elsewhere for dessert. Maybe in the future you can train the people taking reservations not to be in a hurry to get off the phone and listen to the special needs of potential customers. I only became upset seeing we were sat at high tables far from restrooms and then told I couldn't eat after thinking I had made the correct arrangements. Your server went out of his way to make the rest of our Easter morning enjoyable no thanks to you the manager for not checking back even once to see how everything was going. Very poor management skills on your part! We eat out quite a lot and have come in your place to order off the menu but I won't be back.
Update: Easter Sunday 2022 Called for reservation's and to ask about accommodations for disabled persons issues was told no problem just come in and they will accommodate. Was sat at bar table in the bar far away from buffet then was told by server no accommodations can be made. Manager was short in manor, unfriendly and basically ruder then the unfriendly server. Asked about birthday candle for husbands birthday nope If you want a free drink yes but don't plan to sing happy birthday with a candle because they won't help with that. Go someplace else Brickstone will accommodate for all with no issues. I tried to spread our business in town but will go back to Brickstone after the treatment at Hoppy Pig especially if you're disabled!! Friendly bar atmosphere, servers very nice. Very nice drink menu.. Then we get to the food. We placed our appetizer order crabcake bites. After about 25 minutes and 2 apologies from our server out came 4 teeny tiny bites. We tried one and was thoroughly disappointed, no flavor whatsoever for $8 can we say ripoff! Next our main meal. We both chose sandwiches off the special menu hoping for fresh food. My husband chose the pork chop sandwich with maple apple chutney and fries. I went with a pork belly po boy. The pork chop was extremely flavorless you could taste the maple but the apples were to watery leaving very bland chutney.. He wont be ordering this one again. The pork belly po boy had way to much smoke flavor. It was so over powering it was almost resembled fake smoke. The manager did apologize offered to replace it with anything else on the menu or remove the $12 from our bill. He was very polite like the rest of the staff. The staff was the only positive part of a dinner that was absolutely terrible. I might only recommend the Hoppy Pig for...
Read moreToday I visited The Hoppy Pig for the first time and I am sorry to say I will not be returning. The service was actually pretty good; however, the food was less than satisfactory. The menu of both breakfast and supper choices was extravagant and had many delicious sounding meals on it. I personally had the Texas Grilled Cheese. This item comes with a 4 cheese grilled cheese filled with pulled pork and brisket on big, thick pieces of bread, and a choice side of fries. First, I wasn’t really sure that there was even brisket on my sandwich because all the meat was pulled and it looked/tasted all the same. The taste itself wasn’t bad, but not especially smoky, and just kind of wet, which made the bread soggy. Second, the cheese was not really melted and it was sticking out of the bread a little where it was cold floppy so I just picked that part off. Third, I asked for tater tots which my server clearly wrote down, and I got fries instead. The fries were alright, but again, nothing special, and I asked for my tots and she gladly brought them. When I got my tots they looked really good, but as soon as I tasted it it tasted like bad oil. My sister go the black bean burger and that was probably the best meal out of all 6 of us. Other things were just dirty like the extra plates they brought us which were actually dirty and some of them we’re just dingy and stained. And the potholders brought out with the breakfast skillets were just filthy from years of caked on grease. I touched it with one finger and I could feel the grease.
Also, some of the waitresses were wearing shirts, the same design that you can buy if you want to, that read, “Shut up liver, you‘re fine,” and while this may seem like a harmless, funny joke at first, it’s really not. It’s just a blatant support of alcoholism because it benefits the business. The 6 of us did not think it was very cute, and was an aspect that made us not want to return.
I hate to be such a downer, but there was really nothing that made me want to return here. I work in a restaurant and I pride myself on making everything enjoyable for the customers because I understand that when I have a bad experience, I may not...
Read moreSecond visit here, and both times extremely disappointed. I understand seasonal beers are for limited times only, but twice now the Sam Adams Oktoberfest wasn't available. It happens. By itself, not a big deal. I wish that had been the only issue.
Ordered chips and salsa for an appetizer. Salsa tasted like it was from yesterday. Not awful, but not fresh. The salsa shouldn't give a metallic taste when you bite into it. We asked for fried mozzarella instead, which the bartender got for us free of charge, as well as taking the chips and salsa off our bill.
The sandwiches then arrived. My wife got a mushroom and Swiss burger medium well. I got a Reuben. Her burger was only medium at best, and there was a long hair between the burger and the bun. I told my wife not to pull the hair out of the burger, so we wouldn't get accused of "planting" it. My Reuben was very chewy, but that happens sometimes with corned beef, so I'm not holding it against them. Someone we knew came in after we did. She ordered a bloody Mary and was told by the male bartender that he "didn't want to make it." This is a quote from him. we heard it. The female bartender made it instead.
Service alone, I'd give three stars. Food would be zero stars, as well as overall experience. The bar looks fantastic, but without service or food, this business won't last long. Honestly, based on food and our friend's service, I'd give zero stars if i could.
Hopefully they fine-tune these details. Would be nice to get a business that "sticks" in this location. Regardless, I doubt we will...
