This restaurant is so good! It’s very far for me, but I still want to go here often and order different items off the menu. The ambiance is nice and calming. The food is tasty and can be customised a little bit. Basil fried rice is a must try! The veggie spring rolls could do away with a little less basil, but still they were tasty with the peanut sauce.
Update: I went again and ordered Pad Thai. And it was AMAZING! I cannot say enough about how tasty it was. I love this restaurant! Affordable and delicious! Definitely a must try restaurant!
Update: We went there last Saturday, the restaurant was full and they said the wait would be 20 minutes or so. So we opted to order take out, but when we saw another party leave, we asked one person from the staff if we can have the table. He very rudely sad no and there is one party in front of us. Understandable that they would have reservations, but doesn’t mean he had to be rude. But I ignored it thinking there might be a miscommunication. Then as we were ordering, one more table opened up and we asked again about it, he was very rude again and said no, one party is in the line in front of us. If there was one party in front of us for the previous table, wouldn’t we ask for this new table? Very rude. Next, when were done placing the order, he said we can pick it up in 20 minutes. My friend asked him if by the time our order was ready and if a table would open up, could we have it? His reply, again, rudely, “I cannot predict the future.” I understand some people are not polite, but if you have a customer facing job, you have to be. It is almost as if he was too arrogant about his restaurant being in full demand and couldn’t care less if we turned away from the restaurant. The only thing stopping me from giving 1 star is the quality of the food which still...
Read moreI walked into Anchan House of Thai Food expecting a decent meal and left wondering if I had just been adopted by a Thai grandma with a sense of humor and a deep fryer.
Triangle Puff: It's called a triangle puff, but don't be fooled—it packs the power of an entire geometry class. Crispy, flaky, and filled with mysterious magic (probably potatoes and joy), this puff is the edible equivalent of getting a high-five from a cloud.
Chicken Stick Curry: First of all, who thought skewering chicken and bathing it in creamy curry was a good idea? Oh right—a genius. This dish made me feel like I was eating a kebab that went on a spiritual journey and came back enlightened and delicious.
Chicken Wings: These wings are what angels would serve at a BBQ in heaven. Crispy, saucy, and just spicy enough to make you rethink your life choices without calling the fire department. Warning: You will lick your fingers. In public. Repeatedly.
Fried Ice Cream: It’s cold. It’s hot. It’s crunchy. It’s creamy. It’s basically a romantic comedy in dessert form. You’ll be confused at first, then delighted, and then slightly emotional that it’s gone.
Matcha: The matcha drink came in looking all calm and green, like a peaceful monk—but with one sip, it slapped me awake like it was my grandma telling me I hadn't eaten enough. A grassy, creamy, sweet kick to the tongue.
Final Verdict: Anchan House didn’t just feed me. It entertained me, surprised me, mildly assaulted my arteries (in the best way), and left me questioning whether I should move in next door. 10/10 would...
Read moreRude people who are not welcoming and unhygienic food (egg shell in my dish). Left the place hungry
It was my first time at this restaurant (seeing good rating, I thought to give it a try.) We ordered 2 entree and one of them was specified as spicy on the menu. We wanted both the entree to be at same spice level so we mentioned to keep it medium spicy for both. When we got the entree the first bite of mushroom got me coughing like I'm about to die and tears roll out. I called the server and explained to her that we expected both to be at the same spice level that's why we specifically mentioned medium spicy for both (meaning not too spicy even if the entree says spicy). She couldn't explain what she was thinking and couldn't understand why we had called her so she goes and talks to probably the owner and when he comes over to explain, he starts with "you have ordered a spicy dish. We didn't add more spice on it, this is normal spicy." When we said that's why we asked medium spicy for both expecting both will be at the same spice level which is not too spicy. So he goes "this is normal spicy, some people find it less spicy some say it's too spicy that's why we mentioned on the menu that this is a spicy dish."
Ok got it you don't wanna understand and help so we just said ok fine, ate our other entree and got the spicy entree packed so we can trash it afterword. Left hungry from there. Also half of the beer selection is...
