River Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Brandon

Arrived within an hour of closing and the bartender 'hinted' that the kitchen was closing sooner so we ordered quickly. Chicken nachos and their version of Buffalo "wings" which were 3 smaller leg / thigh quarters. With the price of wings these days, an excellent win / win alternative with just enough heat. Nachos were generous with lots of chicken and an ample amount of green salsa with a fresh cilantro. Nice alternative to the regular version. Good selection of craft beers, and a beautiful ( but pricey) feature cocktail highlighted their support for local suppliers.

Friendly, witty bartender added to the upscale modern decor for an above average dining experience. Little on the pricey side, but not unreasonably so. Definitely a recommend if this is what you are...

Excellent seasonal menu, the pork belly appetizer with cherry-juniper compote and soup special (butternut squash with apple) was the best thing I've eaten at a restaurant all year. We also had the deconstructed street corn and 'wings'/(chicken legs). My only critique is that the street corn could use some hot sauce (which they had available upon request, which was great), and the maple teriyaki wings shouldn't come with bleu cheese dressing; a maple honey mustard sauce might be a more apt pairing, but they were delicious on their own.

Service was stellar, reservation system was smooth, location is great. After having tried the four apps, my partner and I have absolute confidence that this chef can execute an amazing menu. Can't wait to bring my family and...

We stopped here on a rainy, dreary day while task driving. It's an hour and a half from home, but...we are CERTAIN we will be returning many more times.

Pumpkin Apple Bisque is so velvety, it can be compared to bunny rabbits, it's THAT good.

Smashburger is a definite smash hit. Maple glazed carrot sticks...a random choice in the hamburger side options...I can't describe them. The only thing better is maybe a SMASHCARROTBURGER!

(I hope these items are going to be regulars on the menu.)

Also, it was a quiet day. I wasn't exactly eavesdropping...but, I just want to say the staff is warm, thoughtful and supportive in the finest way. I think Brandon has a REAL treasure here.
