I'll start off by saying we have eaten here numerous times and it has previously been very stellar. This time however was very different. Detailed below are the observations.
Food: We always start out with the jalapeno poppers. They have always been amazing. This time when the server set them down they warned us they were hot, just came out of the oven. The poppers were barely Luke warm and the peppers were still seemingly on the raw side of cooked. The cream cheese mix was relatively flavorless. Such a let down. With my wife's entree she ordered corn bread and what she got was an overcooked brick that she had to tear the center out to even eat. Something that should have never made it's way to the table. Which the server told every table after ours that they were out and making more (the kitchen never got around to actually making more and at least 5 tables asked about it). Server offered my wife something to replace the inedible corn bread, my wife chose the cheesy potatos and it was just weird, unappealing also. Other items with dinner were good, no issues: brisket, pulled pork, baked beans (best in the area), fried apples.
Service: Our server was very friendly and pretty attentive. The kitchen staff came out asking the servers if they were all caught up, hopefully they used that time to start more corn bread for customers (doubt it).
Atmosphere: Same atmosphere as usual. Nothing wrong with it.
I don't know if it's because it's Saturday (last open day for the week for them) and they don't care any more or if they are just trying to sell out of stuff and are giving leftovers to not make more food and create waste. But it's a shame.
We will likely be back in the future, but it'll be a while with this...
Read moreLet me tell ya...the food was good..had slab of ribs took more than half home..was happy with the amount of meat there was on the ribs..daughter had a cheeseburger she was happy with it..overall we enjoyed our meal and will be back..now the not so satisfying experience with our waitress..when we walked in the young man that seated us asked our waitress if she was ready for a table..in which she loudly replied I'm busy rn and walked to a back room just behind counter..I thought ok hopefully they get us a different gal..lol..well little later a waitress waiting on another table came over pleasant as could be with dark hair and asked for our drinks..explained our waitress would be out momentarily..well she brought our drinks then our actual waitress came to ask for order..well when I ordered my rack of ribs she said idk if have any left..let me check..never to come back til our order was ready..this somewhat was irritating as I didn't kno if I was getting my order or not..well anyway food came out..was good..but waitress didn't come to table but one time after to give us our check..I sent daughter up with the total and there was approximately 50 cents in change..well usually I tip at least 10 to 15%..but your waitress came past my table and said do you want me to just keep the change..I said sure..which I feel was extremely unprofessional of her..so that was the tip she got..I was totally satisfied with everything else but I feel like this girl is a little laxed with her position..I really wish I knew her name..that was something else she never said either..I felt like I was takin up her time..my bad..🙄..but otherwise I woulda gave this...
Read moreIf you are a fan of bbq, I would pick somewhere else. I saw the other reviews (mostly positive) and thought that this would be a perfect place for dinner. I was very wrong. We ordered the jalapeño poppers for an appetizer and it was actually good. There was no smoke flavor to be found but they were still tasty which I thought would set the tone for everything else. This led me to dinner which was the trio platter with brisket, chicken, and pork with a side of green beans and slaw. The meats had to be the most dried out sorry excuse for bbq that I’ve had at a restaurant. The brisket was an absolute joke. It literally tasted like it was boiled. No seasoning, no smoke, and tougher than a leather shoe. No smoke ring to be found. No bark. Just boiled beef. The chicken was just as dry and honestly tasted like canned chicken. Once again, there was no smokey flavor, no seasoning, and overall not bbq. Pork was more of the same except it was soggy. It was for sure shredded but that’s about it. The best way to describe this was wet. No flavor to be found other than old pork. The green beans tasted like they were out of the can and the slaw was the only thing that was decent. I tried to salvage what I could with the bbq sauces which is the only thing you can actually call bbq in this joint. I’m pretty sure they were all a base of sweet baby rays mixed in with some other things which was not bad. It , sadly, couldn’t save the meal. We did complain about this and they took off part of the meal which was appreciated but it should have been the whole bill. The server then disappeared for 15 minutes before we could pay the bill. Worst bbq I’ve ever...
