Over priced, premade (not fresh), reheated and still cold in the center. Very disappointing. Well since you replied I would be happy to explain to you how I jnow they are not fresh or made in the store. 1. I have stopped by multiple times as the doors were opening and the place has yet to smell like a singl thing was baked in there. 2. If these are fresh made they wiuld only require to be warmed up in the microwave not fully cooked. 3. Every time I have come in and they have "warmed" my kolaches the meat in the center is still completely solidified, the grease is congealed and hard. There is no way a freshly made pastry, thats then reheated in the microwave would be refrigerator temperatures in the center. 4. Iam an award winning competitive cook, my husband is a chef, me have been to many bakeries and your Kolache shop in Clute (on the Texas Bucket list) which actually smells like baked good we have visited numerous times. However when my family and I went recently, we spent a whole $30 in there (just about) for it to be, sadly, mediocre. Read moreThis was my first experience here. Walked in and the loved the actual shop. Very cute and homey.. but good experience ends there. I ordered 2 kolaches.. 1 sausage and cheese and 1 jalapeno sausage and cheese. 1 was piping hot its been 10 min and still cant attepmt to give it to my toddler the other one is not even kind of warm. Its very cold. No cheese in either one... mouth full of jalapeno seeds and a rubbery sausage. No thanks. 6 bucks down the drain...
