I've lived in, and just outside, the St. Louis metro for most of my life and I'm fond of Italian food, so I find myself asking, "Why have I never eaten here?" Based upon a random facebook post in my feed we decided date night would start at Nick & Elena's. The parking lot was packed, spilling over onto the property next door. This could be a good thing or bad thing. It certainly says the place is popular. Luckily, once inside, we didn't have to wait as there was one table available. The reason for the overflowing parking lot was a party being held in Nick & Elena's party room. Service was faster than expected with a full house. The other patrons were friendly as is commonly the case in The Lou, from my experience. Appetizers came fairly quickly. We had the toasted ravs and the provel balls. Both were delicious but the provel balls were outstanding. I'd never had them before, anywhere, but will come here specifically for these. The entrees were pepperoni & bacon pizza for me and spaghetti for her. Both were delicious! The pizza crust was perfect for St. Louis style. My wife loved her spaghetti just as much as I loved the pizza. The food was great, the service good, the vibe friendly, and the prices were reasonable in this post-COVID economy. We'll definitely be back.

Nick & Elena's is a true, 100% Mom&Pop Shop! It's like they converted a home into a restaurant. So much old school. Service was nice. I can tell the servers are tired they are running back and forth all night. But even the menu said, be patient with us cause we are short staffed. We had the house salad with Italian meats and cheese. Aroncini Ball, 2 pizzas 1 new york style 1 St. Louis style. Salad was nice and decent. Arancini ball had a light sweetness to it but crispy and creamy. St. Luis style was a miss for me. That provel paired with a sweeter sauce was not a win. The new york style was perfect. The crust, sauce, sausage all TOP NOTCH! I highly recommend trying this spot and when you eat in be patient, they are very nice but you will wait. But worth every bite.

My sister had been wanting to get here to get some pizza because she really enjoys it. She tried to call in her order as soon as they opened (2pm.) But she couldn't get through. She had me place a order inside for a med. thin crust pizza. The pizza was ready in 15-20mins. They place the parmesan cheese and pepper in dry waxed paper bags. I tasted a couple slices of her pizza to see why she had been craving it. I must say I likes it better than Imo's. I don't care for Imo's. I would like to try some of their other pasta dishes and my preferred crust option (hand tossed) pizza with the toppings I like. It's best if you eat the pizza there if you don't live 5 mins. away. If you don't, you will want to reheat it in the air fryer or oven.

Heard about this place years ago but never tried them. Had them Sat. Customer Service was outstanding. It's an old school mom & pops place so if you're looking for modern or romantic, this place is not it....now for the food.. We spent $131....we got a large cheese & a large supreme pizza, an order of Elena's original wings, an order of spicy garlic parmesen wings, the rice ball, an order of toasted raviolis, an order of Mozzarella sticks, an order of Fettuccine & an order of Pasta con broccoli. If you're familiar with Angelo's pizza in Black Jack, the taste is similar. The pizza was delicious. I got extra sauce & black olives on the supreme. The mozzarella sticks & toasted ravs were great. I did not care for the meat sauce, something was off & I didn't like the meat in it. The rice ball was ok but I personally would not get it again. The wings were not seasoned & I'm not sure why restaurants don't season the wings, just throw sauce on them. The hot sauce on the wings were great but again, I wouldn't order the wings again. Now what I was really shocked by was the lack of flavor & sauce that was used in the pastas....the pastas were dry. There was very little broccoli & mushrooms in the pasta con broccoli. Both lacked seasonings. I had to doctor both of them up by adding my own Alfredo sauce, garlic & other seasonings. For the amount of money spent, I was disappointed, the only saving grace was the pizza & apps. Also, they just had a price increase & it looks like most things...

I placed an order this evening for delivery and not being familiar with this restaurant and it's location (found them on UrbanSpoon) the first thing I asked was if they could deliver to me and gave them my address and was told it would not be a problem and was told my order would be ready in 45 minutes. An hour later when my food had not arrived I called and was told the order wasn't there so it must be on its way, and a little over an hour later the driver showed up and I was told that they were very busy that night and they do not deliver in my area and I could call when they were slow and they would deliver to me then. I called to ask for an email address for the restaurant so that I could leave a comment less publicly that this and was asked by the girl on the phone who has worked there for two months what the issue was and after I explained it to her and asked if it was okay that the driver told me that and was told yes twice that it was okay that he told me that, I asked for a manager again and was told they were too busy to talk to me. So here we are. If you're looking for average or above average customer service I would move on to the next place. I will say that the food was good and was warm when it arrived. ETA -- 20 minutes later I feel terrible, food made me very sick...
