We had chose Traverse for our family birthday dinner for the views and the wheelchair accessibility; both of these were provided. Otherwise, our overall experience was a FLOP!

We did receive our water service and appetizers were delicious if you didn't mind the 40 minute wait. Our wine orders were mixed up meaning we received the incorrect wine. When letting our waitress know of the mix up... I'm not sure she understood or really cared.

Timeliness: Our meals were served at the same time our salads were which was immediately following our appetizers! Ugg. I also want to include we were the only table seated of 6 and one other table of 2 guest. The soda pop that was ordered was FLAT and was exchanged for new. Upon having a refill the soda was again FLAT... which may indicate low carbonation or the glasses not being rinsed properly.

My flatiron steak was delicious and the trout was excellent. As the evening was coming to an end we had ordered the cobbler as it was the only dessert served. Again, we waited another 40 minutes for the dessert!! In closing my sister finished her $14 glass of Malbec wine only to find CHUNKS of sentiment that stuck to the sides of the glass. Upon letting our server know she was very dismissive and didn't even take that glass off our ticket. Seriously gross to see 1" x .25" partial stuck to the inside of a wine glass you had just consumed.

Overall, not impressed with staff, wine, timeliness, or the overall vibe. My...

A friend of ours came to town for a 2-day business workshop. Traverse had one of their favorite dishes: elk tenderloin. It came with broccoli and corn pallenta - 3 of our party had the same dish. The 4th had the Ceviche. The elk was prepared medium-rare and perfect. The vegetables were not overcooked, but tender. Service was quite good and attentive. Our dessert was shared on account of our "forced aversions" to sugars and carbs - that worked. Too good, yet we were strong and pushed away from the allure of something so delicious! Now, for whatever reason, our dessert wait was long. The young waiter offered to "have the dessert on them", which we declined their offer since it probably was not their fault. We were still happy to tip and left quite happy.

I think the short wait was more a symptom of the far greater problem of staffing shortages country-wide.

All in all - I can recommend Traverse for a great setting, great views, very good food and preparation care. You won't be disappointed in quality or how attentive staff is...

Poor management. We had a reservation and were excited to dine here. Unfortunately, our bags were delayed two hours at the airport, so we were going to be cutting it close to our reservation time. I called the restaurant to ask if the cancelation fee could be waived due to circumstance so we wouldn’t have to try and speed from Denver to Breck to make it. The woman on the phone let me know she would cancel the reservation and we would not be charged. We even confirmed one more time before ending the call. We understand cancellation policies which is why we made sure to confirm they would waive the fee in this case. Two days later my card was charged an $80 cancellation fee from traverse. When I called to have them cancel the charge I was told they couldn’t as I canceled within 24 hours. When I let them know that the woman who works there told me I would not be charged, I was told there was nothing she could do as it was their policy. We will not be trying this restaurant again. They pretended to be accommodating, but...

A late review of our New Year’s Eve dinner at Traverse. We had to go through a hotel and down the stairs to come to the restaurant so it is hidden. It was dark outside but the view is amazing from the restaurant. We had booked dinner a la carte but when we arrived they told us that they had technical issues and they only had the New Year’s Eve menu. Since we couldn’t cancel our reservation they made an exception so me and my friend could split one menu. The food on the menu was amazing and it was worth every penny. We had tuna and scallop ceviche, spinach and goat cheese salad, surf and turf and a crème brûlée cheesecake. Would definitely recommend this place and also in the daylight when you can enjoy the view.

Stayed at the lodge one night and decided to try out the restaurant on site since it was the easiest option for food. They only had one server working but he absolutely killed it. All his recommendations were great, the food was delivered quickly and tasted great. I had the Elk Tenderloin, it was amazing! The 8oz filet was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The Kung Pow Brussel sprouts were a table favorite and were devoured within minutes of arriving at our table. Definitely a great choice for a date night, make sure to request a table by the windows so you can enjoy the fantastic views. I would definitely eat here again.
