This BBQ place and DAVID, I think is the owner, was horrible to us tonight. I wonāt call him a āmanā because he sure did not act like a man with our situation. AND for this place to present to be a Christian based restaurant⦠? he was NOT even close to that way with us!! š All over a baked potato !!!!!!! Imagine that! My daughter and I went in to get it to go, she ordered a hickory spud potato, plain, with only butter and BBQ sauce on the side. We get home to eat and itās got cheese (looked like 2 kinds) melted all over it. I call to let them know that her potato was not plain but has cheese melted all over. David proceeds to tell me thatās the way it comes. So we argue about it NOT BEING A PLAIN potato! In my world a plain potato does not have cheese!! He said theirs does & unless she said āno cheeseā then itās gonna have cheese. - WHAT? So Iām thinking being a āservant mindedā restaurant I could take it back, theyād do the right thing, Iād get it replaced, no problem, itās a baked potatoā¦. But Noooooo. š David got ugly and said they couldnāt replace it because she didnāt say āno cheeseā. I said, āSo even if my husband brings it back because itās wrong you wonāt replace it?ā David said āNo we just sold the last one.ā š(ā¦r i g h tā¦.) So my husband takes the potato back anyways, to try again with this placesā customer serviceā¦because our daughterās supper was wrong (neither of them eat cheese) & sheās been wanting a hickory potato for a couple of weeks. This David guy was even more rude to my husband! Told him the same thing heād told me on the phone. Hubby was nice & told him what poor customer service this was and he could have the potato back since we werenāt gonna eat it. David rudely snatched it back across the counter - Hubby told him weād be writing a complaint/review on his website. David said āI DONāT CARE!ā Imagine thatš¤
He offered no apology and no attempt to work it out in any way whatsoever with me or my husband!
Well, I DO CARE ~ that all my friends, and anyone thinking of spending money there, know the actions of this rude, horrible guy and how he doesnāt care about his customers or what they think or say!! We spent over &50 there tonightš We absolutely will NEVER be back there again and we live close! Wright Way BBQ absolutely did not handle this the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA foreword: we will be giving this another go in the future. A lot of our experience this evening was a result of our first five minutes in the door. Our confusion+confused cashier=rough start.
The atmosphere at walk-in is inviting and the folks are friendly. We absolutely loved that. It adds so much to a dining experience to know that you're supporting a business that values their customers. My kids spotted the train out front from the back of the parking lot, so they have something unique to set them apart and make them memorable.
Now the ordering windows are the first thing you come to. There aren't signs telling you this, so you kind of just stand around awkwardly observing people until you figure out which window while reading the menu on the wall. That said, you have to order your food cafeteria-style and then sit down somewhere. They bring your food to you when it's ready, but everything else is very cafeteria-esque. We sat near a large party in the front section that was through the double glass doors. The seating area had the very welcoming, down home feel that my family and I are accustomed to in a BBQ place. Our order was wrong, but we didn't realize it until the food came, so we had to go back to the window, order what was left off, and then wait for it to be prepared.
The fries were great. I don't usually like fries cut with the skin still there, but these were really good. I couldn't quite place what they sprinkled on them, but it was a pleasant combination. I ordered two barbecue sandwiches (as I always do at BBQ places). The meat was chopped, not pulled and a bit on the dry side, like the dry and firm side. There was plenty of sauce on the table to mitigate it, but I do prefer barbecue that has a soft, supple texture with a smoky flavor. I prefer vinegar sauce typically, but the sweet also had a zing to it that I could appreciate. My husband had the trainwreck hotdogs and stated that they were probably of the Nathan's variety and said that they were fantastic.
Overall, I can't complain. I want to say our issues were extremely minor and I'm almost certain they were a fluke. We'll be better prepared on our next trip so it will be less awkwardness on arrival. A sign or two with simple directions for new folks wouldn't hurt. I will update after...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have always loved this place and their wings! My mom got me to make an order for 100 wings. I preordered this several days in advance, & I get there I wait. No problem!!! I get it back to the place where we are having my nieceās graduation dinner, and the order isnāt right. The kids wonāt eat the hotter ones just the bbq. However, we are running short on time and canāt come back. I asked if they would just refund me for the 20 wings so I can give it to my parents (who paid for them) because we are running out of time and getting this dinner started with enough time to make graduation. There response is Iāll give u a wing credit. Well if I paid for them that would be fine, but I didnāt. I even explain this. Then they say the guy who made my order said that thereās the right amount of wings just not sauced correctly....well he doesnāt say anything afterwards, and I asked well what can we do? He then says bring 20 back and Iāll give u the bbq.... clearly I already stated I cannot come back thatās why I preordered! I understand that we have the right amount now... I didnāt to begin with, but Iām not trying to get anything for free, but if he would have at least acted apologetic about it I would have been a little happier. He just clearly didnāt care that they were wrong and this was for something important not just a regular dinner night. Guess Iāll be going to Rebel Crossing for now on to get wings. Hate that too, but he didnāt care didnāt...
