The Crack'd Egg — Restaurant in Brentwood

Disappointment in service. Went here for the first time. First we called ahead to see if there was a long wait. Was told just 15-20mins. Asked if we could reserve a table. The gentleman asked for a name and then hung up. Strange but okay things happen. We arrived at 12:20pm and got told it’ll be a 10-15 min wait unless we would like to sit at the bar. We sat at the bar, our waiter got our drinks and our order immediately. It was a great start. We waited til 1:17pm and still haven’t received our food. Some People that got there after us got their food and there were others that were also waiting for their food. It was clear that food wasn’t coming out of the kitchen quickly for customers. We finally decided to leave due to my brother having to leave out of town. Asked nicely for my check for our drinks. Our waiter comes back and tells us our food is going to be ready in 13-15 mins if we would like to wait. All we order was a breakfast burrito and a breakfast burger. I told her no we had to leave and waited long enough. She got an attitude and said “everyone’s orders are taking long.” I didn’t think that was the best response to give back. Mind you that the place wasn’t even packed with people, yes it was busy but not packed where there’s a line or each table was taken til closing. There was even tables that were empty by the time I asked for my check. It’s almost like I was in the wrong for wanting to leave after waiting. It was never explained if there was problems going on in the kitchen or any reason why service is slow. Its understandable for this to happen sometimes but an apology for lack of service would have been better than “everyone’s orders are taking long.” It’s almost as if they could care less. Just a “don’t worry about it” for my check of 2 coffees. I didn’t tip because of the attitude response I received. For a place that has great reviews....I honestly can’t say I’ll be back after this kind of service. Hopefully this situation can be dealt in a better...

I raaaaaaaarely give a 1 star review, but to be fair this place deserves it. I came here June 7th at 10:40 am. Stood in front of the hostess stand for I kid you not 10 mins before one of the kids behind the bar finally decided to lift his head up and look towards the hostess stand and shout out, "we'll be with you in a minute." Clearly it was not one minute or two or three, it was another 5 mins with no one actually coming up to us and asking us how many people we had and possibly giving us a time frame of how long it would take to get a table. Mind you it's my birthday and I picked this place to stop at on the way from Belle Vernon to Moraine state park, it was right off route 51 and seemed like a legit spot. My goodness was I mistaken. Zero effort to accommodate the guest coming to eat. Zero effort to try and make us feel like we might actually get to sit down. We didn't even have a chance to give this place a chance. It's sad but I promise you I will never come back and waste 15 mins of my life and I hope you all reading this choose to do the same, or at least have 30 mins minimum to get greeted...... Smh and add insult to injury, Look what the sign said at their hostess stand............ Hahahahhahahhaha it would be funny if it was a joke, but that sign is actually what you're going to get.......... Smh once again. Have some pride in what you do and hustle. Move. Come on people...

I rarely leave positive food reviews so take this review as genuine as possible. I am so incredibly wow'd by this place that I needed to take time to leave a review.

This place has given me a whole new standard of breakfast. I don't think I will ever be able to go to any other breakfast place and be satisfied. This place has the best quality breakfast without a premium price. The prices are similar to breakfast chains like Bob Evans and Denny's (if not cheaper tbh).

The first time I came it didn't wow me like this, but this time around I don't know how I wasn't wow'd the first time.

Must haves to order - bacon (the BEST bacon I've ever had and I am not a bacon person), home fries (I almost melted in my seat, literally), french toast (not too eggy and is perfectly sweet). This place actually knows how to cook eggs too. I ordered over medium and did not get over easy. Everywhere I go they give me over easy (which is fine, but never what I order) The white toast is also the best restaurant toast I've ever had. It's not tiny pieces of toast.

Highly, highly recommend it. If I did not live in the area, I would make the trip out here to get it and I will be recommending it to...
