If I could give the customer service and food at the Clairton Blvd location 0 stars, I would. I was visiting my mom from D.C. for her wedding anniversary weekend. My father recently passed in April and I drove to Pittsburgh to spend time with her. We decided to order some hoagies and she suggested Venice. The cost for 2 hoagies was $36 without tip. Nothing special on the hoagies. The hoagies were DRY and TASTELESS and the bread was stale and over toasted. My mom and I picked around the bread and ate what we could eat. I told her that she should say something since she paid $36. She called the store and the manager on duty at about 6 pm on Friday, 27 June 2025 was RUDE, DISMISSIVE, and basically mansplained to my mom that this is just how they cook the hoagies. Not true. She’s had hoagies there before. I heard her give in and hang up the phone. That didn’t fly with me. I called and asked for this “manager.” He talked over me, repeated the mansplaining BS, and displayed the WORST customer service I have ever experienced from a fast food joint - and that includes McDonald’s. He proceeded to say that they don’t give credit - even though we paid $36 for tasteless garbage - and hung up on me. So, bravo to the RUDE and IMMATURE and POOR EXCUSE FOR A MANAGER who was on duty on Friday, 27 June 2025 at 6 pm because it’s obvious this is all you will ever aspire to in life - a low-life pizza place tool. To all customers, beware of this location. You won’t like the food or the employees. You have...
Read moreEDIT: I want to update this just to spread the word. Get the Pierogie Pizza, add Ranch sauce (in addition to the white), add bacon, add shrimp; it will blow your mind. Just...heaven. It is Pittsburgh in a pizza.
EDIT 2: I decided to try the Pepperoni and Cheese rolls, just to do something different. Holy mother of god. I need someone to hold me while I cry and reevaluate my life, these are amazing. Not good cold or reheated though, so only get what you can eat in one sitting.
Excellent pizza, basta, and hoagies, BEST Pierogie pizza in Pittsburgh, hands down. If you are a 'burgher, and want something far more "Pittsburgh" than Primanti's I suggest getting their Pierogie pizza (though I get it with no onions and add bacon).
I moved into the area a bit over 2 years ago, and in the first two months I had no kitchen due to some contractor issues. I tried every pizza and delivery food joint in the area and this one was the best.
I still order them frequently for my weekly game nights, and every single time the pizzas are fully eaten with no leftovers (which is a bit sad), my friends love them.
Their pizza is actually a point of contention between my wife and I. She is a Quatro Pizza fan, where as I opt for Venice. While Quatro is excellent too their crust is painfully chewy for morning-after cold breakfast pizza, which is my...
Read moreFirst their pizza is severely over cooked. Crust tasted like cardboard. I ordered an anchovies pizza. As soon as I received, the smell was awful. My dad who loves anchovies couldn't even finish a slice. That's how bad it is. My sister nearly vomited due to the smell. I promptly called Venice Pizza expressing my displeasure of the pizza. The manager who i spoke to was telling me to get a refund they would need the pizza back. It's in the dumpster. He kept on telling me if i want a refund, he needs to have the pizza back. Seriously? You want me to climb in a dumpster for a $20 Pizza and risk getting stuck by something when it's filled with trash? If they want the pizza that bad, they can come to my apartment complex and get it out of the dumpster themselves. Whoever i spoke to hung up on me as i was expressing who unsafe the request was of me having to go dumpster diving for a pizza. I'm not going to risk myself getting sick. I would steer clear of this place...
