Cook Out — Restaurant in Brevard

They were under-staffed with only three people, I ordered a Big Double cheeseburger and fries and an Oreo milkshake at the Brevard North Carolina location. No issues with the milkshake. But it took a long time to be able to place the order because they didn't have enough help, when we did order the person taking the order was not paying attention and did not hear me say that I wanted double fries although a co-worker with me informed her of her error. When I received the order I looked under the bun and it looked like there was only one patty and it was very small. When I took it to the counter it again took time for someone to come out and talk to me and upon being told that there were two patties under that small piece of meat I was surprised that cookout had gone to such reduce size in the circumference as well as the depth of their burgers. I was told that it had been a company change recently and that was what they were sending. I accepted that until me and my co-worker bit into the hamburger and it was discovered that the hamburgers were hard crispy even as if they had been sitting under the heat lamp for some time. I was disappointed that someone back there on this day would put dried out hamburgers on a bun and expect the customers to enjoy the experience. Both me and my co-worker complained again and even the worker who looked at the burgers was surprised that it made its way out onto our table. They did recook them which took some more time and they were tasty but again small in nature. My coworkers milkshake, a peach milkshake had not been ground up properly and some bits of the peach were frozen so hard that I could not drink it with a straw and it was almost too hard to chew. I contacted the company by phone while sitting there in the restaurant and they took my complaint and apologized. They said they would follow up on my information. I just never had a bad experience with Cookout and this one being so horrific has scarred me. If indeed they are going to these teeny bopper burgers then I will not be participating by ordering hamburgers and I told them I would prefer to go to Sonic. This ends my story. PS... Today was the first time I have been disappointed at this location and we have been here many times. We ordered 2 regular hamburger trays. One was ordered with mayo, lettuce, onion and tomato with onion rings and fries. One was ordered with bacon, cheese, mayo lettuce and onion with Cajun fries and cheese bites. The young man who took the order seemed competent and he was friendly but failed to tell us that they were out of tomatoes until I asked about it after the order came without tomato. A man (maybe the manager) came by and said "We don't have any tomatoes. They might be on that truck outside"...no apologies or anything, he just walked away. On the burger with bacon, the bacon was a hard wad right in the center. That burger was mine and it was small, hard and dry, like it had been in a warmer for a while. There were exactly 3 onion rings on the other order and what looked like about half an order of fries. On my order, the cheese bites were fresh and really good but there were NOT Cajun fries on either order. On both orders, the fries that WERE there were cold and stale, like they'd been sitting for quite a while. There was a lot of laughing in the kitchen while the manager (?) seemed to just be walking around. We ordered milkshakes which were delivered quickly and accurately. Brevard location NEVER gets the order correct like not even a little bit. Everything in my order was wrong how hard is it to make a burger with cheddar chees, tomato raw onions mayonnaise ketchup?? That is NOT cheddar style if i wanted a cheddar style id freaking order a cheddar style and how is a banana shake a vanilla shake which i ordered?? If you want to get paid $15 an hour you have to do better!! Pay attention and for God's sake cook the bacon no one likes raw bacon do you like raw bacon?? Not that I ordered bacon in the first place!! Seriously do better!!

I stopped going to cookout bc my order would always be wrong. It will be right now the receipt but it doesn't matter how I order my burger it's alway wrong. How hard is it to put freaking cheese on a burger. I haven't been to a cookout for years bc of that. I decided to give it one more time. Well guess what? Asked for burger with mayo, raw onions tomato and cheddar cheese Not only did it not have cheddar cheese it had NO CHEESE!!! ISN'T burgers what your speciality is??? Then why can't I ever get it like I ordered. I will never go back. I'm done! Since coming to brevard i have had one burger like I ordered but I ate there. Might want to check how long it's been in Brevard bc it has been years. YEARS!!! Say what you want about mcdonald's or burger king at least they will make it right. I don't know how hard it is to put freaking cheddar...
