New China Restaurant — Restaurant in Brevard

I hate to do this. I realize that this is a family business and that “times” are hard. Last night I came in to order supper and there was a lady in tears because she ordered the wrong dish. She came all the way from Cedar Mountain. The meal was already prepared so the owners would not change the order. They were charging her $26 for orange beef, and would not help her.

Me and another gentleman agreed that we would split the cost so that she could order the meal that she had intended to order.

My daughter and I have been coming to this restaurant for ever, since it opened. This is not the same family owned business that we have been accustomed to. The ingredients are cheep and the food is over priced. The kitchen seems like a very unhappy place and the poor girl that takes the orders seems like she is afraid.

I will not return....

I recently dined at this Chinese restaurant and had an exceptional experience. The food was fresh and delicious, especially the piping hot spring rolls that I couldn't resist diving into, despite burning the roof of my mouth in the process. Their extensive selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes is impressive; the Szechuan vegetables with fried tofu were a particular highlight, with a deliciously flavorful sauce that left me craving more. The service was top-notch, with the waitress being incredibly attentive and accommodating. I ordered #27 (spicy beef) on the menu. I was so disappointed. The problem was the sauce. It ruined the dish. I fished out the meat and vegetables and took the rice home. I tried rescuing the rice by rinsing it in a colander and tried an Asian sauce I had on hand. The original sauce had soaked into the rice so there was no saving it. I had to ditch it. I hope the other Asian restaurants open up soon. Since it was takeout only because of the pandemic I didn't try to eat the dish until about 15 minutes down the road.
