I hate to give negative reviews, but my gf and I had a terrible experience here. We have had amazing food during our stay in Brevard but we didn't have enough time in the day to wait to try Morning Social.

Condensed version: We waited forever for service and for food that never came. Were given dirty looks possibly thought we were people that they knew that wronged them? Decided to leave because we were running out of time. They told us we had to pay even though we still had not gotten our food. No empathy from staff. Then make us wait for them to box it up but give us no indication on how long that would take so we left.

Long Version: It was a 25 min. wait to be seated -which is ok. Sit down, wait 15 min. for someone to show up and take our order then no one checked on us for about 45 minutes. We overheard a convo because the table next to us decided to confront the staff as to why it was taking long. They said they were very short staffed. These things happen and I get it, but we were ready to eat and after having multiple -we will wait 5 more minutes- conversations decided to politely tell the host we couldn't wait anymore and had to leave. She asks if we can wait more but we were an hour and a half in at this point and no one had even come to our table to tell us what has been happening. Instead of getting understanding the host tells us that the food is actually on the way to the table and that we have to pay for it. I looked over to the table and didn't see anything. I didn't think that was right but I agreed to pay for it and take it to go. We then proceed to wait.. it was getting really awkward and I walk in to speak to the hostess again. Shes not even paying attention, no instruction on whats next or how long the wait to get it boxed would be.. so we left. One of the few situations where I felt like maybe we were being too nice to them. Honestly short staffed happens, but it was really the not checking on us at all and only coming to the table once in an hour is what got me. Not even a warning saying there would be a wait. We were getting a lot of dirty looks from the staff from afar so I thought they thought I was someone I wasn't. OR there was a gentleman that negatively reviewed here saying they were racist towards Jewish people here. I am not jewish but I have a dark beard and I guess you might be able to mistake me for it. In any case it was a terrible experience all around, I wish I could've said something about the food but I don't know how good it had to be to fix how bad of an...

As a top Google Guide with over 130 Million views on maps we have partnered with Hilton in previous small town Google stories to inspire curiosity and travel.

We stayed two nights in the Hampton Inn Brevard near the entrance of Pisgah National Forest. As much as I love the Hilton brand, I don’t care for the complimentary breakfast so my husband & I often search for restaurants that source local farm fresh ingredients.

After a little Brevard research we reached out to Morning Social. Our plan was to visit on Tuesday (the day after Labor Day) but it turned out they would not be open. We decided to rearrange our itinerary to land in Brevard on Sunday so we could do this write up and add Morning Social to our Google Maps. We mistook their email response as marketing collaborators but nonetheless we decided to still try their food despite the mixup.

Being Labor Day weekend, the place was packed! And the wait was long! We watched as they turned people away. Even someone trying to get carry- out could not. The hostess Nadia was friendly & I saw her trying to accommodate everyone.

Well our patience was rewarded, we landed with Aaron as our server (nice guy) and we were the last of the day to get an order in.

My husband went with a coffee & the pancakes and I ordered the corned beef hash, a biscuit as well as the Natalie’s orange juice. One thing that sort of upset us is the lack of syrup for the pancakes, they bring out this “tiny”condiment cup that simply isn’t enough to cover the pancakes. In fact, they added 2.00 for the additional syrup without telling us. My advice would be to bring out a bottle of syrup to those diners that order pancakes or French Toast. Simple as that! My husband had to request more of those small condiment cups. It was annoying!

At the end, we both agreed that the wait was worth it! The food was delicious!!!! and if I’m ever in the Brevard area, I may come back to try more off their menu.

👉Check out my review of Pisgah Bakehouse- they also serve local ingredients and their breakfast sandwiches were out of this world!

My advice to you is to plan ahead!

Enjoy...

I had a very unsettling experience here and as I read more reviews it seems the Manager Eric has had other complaints about his behavior. The owners did positively respond back to the email my spouse wrote them, which is below. In a world where kindness matters… go to Smokey Sunrise instead.

(This morning I was having a conversation with the young lady at the greeting desk. I wear hearing aids and was trying to confirm the process of having to order at the bar in order to eat at a picnic table. So I asked her, “ So we have to order at the bar and then take it to the outside picnic table?” She said yes and I said” Ohhhh K.” The manager, Eric walks into the middle of the conversation and I was so taken back by him. He berates me and says , “Yep every time! Don’t have an attitude with her” and points to the door for me to leave. I really was astonished because the young lady was so sweet and I was trying to confirm the process when he jumped into the conversation that he didn’t fully hear or understand. I tried to tell him oh my gosh I wasn’t having an attitude with her I am so sorry if that’s the way it came out. He was ABNORMALLY angry and berating. I offered my hand to shake and said I am so sorry. He did shake my hand and said, “Yes you are sorry!” It was very upsetting and unsettling. Your business is amazing, the food is awesome and I have ALWAYS had great service and friendly servers until today. Everyone has things going on in their lives right now maybe he was triggered but my gosh he was don’t right aggressive. As a business owner myself, I would absolutely want someone to tell me about this behavior. Thank you so much and have a great day.)

I am NOT a sensitive person. This man’s behavior was so out of the norm it was disturbing to be quite honest and a very poor reflection on this business. We live around the corner and can walk there but will...

Having been open less than a year, normally I would attribute the popularity of a new restaurant to shiny object syndrome, but in this case, I believe they have staying power; apparently they are owned and operated by the same folks as the former Honey & Salt in Flat Rock, which had quite a following. As if being located in the trendy Brevard Lumberyard Arts District weren’t enough of a draw, the major appeal in my opinion is the upscale food in a very casual environment. We took my mother-in-law and father-in-law, who have been part-time residents of nearby Sapphire for over a decade, and they were so impressed that they immediately pledged to tell all their local friends about the place. My husband and I each had a salmon benedict (how could you not?!) and split an order of Gouda grits, and we both agreed that we would eat the entire meal over again. My mother-in-law had the grits bowl and absolutely raved about it; she asked for the basil sauce on the side and then never ended up using it, but I couldn’t help myself and snagged a taste, and it was phenomenal. My father-in-law is somewhat less of a foodie, but he thoroughly enjoyed his corned beef. Our server upsold us on some to-go cookies from their bakery partner, and each of those were also delicious. While we did expect a wait at midday on a Saturday, it wasn’t long (~25 minutes) and they had both indoor and outdoor waiting area options, so we enjoyed mimosas and bloody marys to pass the time. Street parking was also not a problem. Definitely give this place a try!

Morning Social is one of our main restaurants whenever we come to Brevard, great for breakfast or lunch. I like coming here for the stores around it too, like the guitar shop down the street. It is weirdly situated in the backend of a warehouse, kind of hard to find at first glance. But the food and service has always been consistent and appetizing. We love sitting outside in the covered patio area, in the middle of a quaint courtyard. My go-to entrees are the fruit-stuffed Pancakes with vegan batter, Eggs Benny with salmon, and for lunch I get the Reuben. I would also recommend the seasonal fruit cups, which actually have decent fruit inside. The only criticisms I have involve a recent order. The Avocado Toast and the Roasted Roots Hash did not taste right to me. I think for the latter it was the combination of beets and sweet potatoes that didn't sit well with my palette, but the former, maybe the avocado used was not the freshest? Still, like I've said, there are enough delicious options on the menu that we're satisfied. 5 stars.
