1/5 Stars – Don’t be fooled by the view. Skip Ocean Terrace.
We had high hopes for Ocean Terrace given the beautiful location and ocean views, but unfortunately, the experience was a complete letdown from start to finish.
We made a reservation in advance, but when we arrived, the table still wasn’t ready. We stood around waiting, which set the tone for the rest of the night. Once we were finally seated, it took over 30 minutes just to receive water and drinks. No updates, no apologies — just a frustratingly long wait for basic service.
When the food arrived, it was a massive disappointment. Most dishes came out cold and far too salty, almost like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while before being brought to the table. It wasn’t just one item — nearly everything we ordered was either poorly prepared or not served at the right temperature and I’m not even being dramatic. The halibut wasn’t even cooked thoroughly and was raw.
We asked to speak to a manager to share our concerns, and while the manager was polite, it felt like a box-checking exercise. They didn’t take any meaningful action and, most frustratingly, never communicated with our server about the issues we raised. That made the entire conversation feel brushed off and unimportant — like they just wanted us to stop complaining and move on.
The only redeeming part of the evening was the view — yes, it’s beautiful — but that’s not enough to make up for the disorganized service, cold food, and lack of accountability from management.
There are plenty of great spots with a view along the coast — do yourself a favor and choose literally anywhere else. Ocean Terrace has all the potential, but clearly, it’s being run by a team that doesn’t care about the guest experience. We won’t be back, and I strongly recommend others...
Read moreMy family and I came for a birthday dinner, a celebratory dinner. The food was good for the most part (the duck potato skins appetizer was really great) and we experienced good service from our waiter at the terrace, however, we were seated towards the outside of the dining area on the terrace and it was extremely buggy. I would have thought that a place as big as this would spray something to keep bugs away but my party was being eaten alive. To the credit of our server, when we mentioned we were ready to leave as it was super buggy, he brought the check right away. To finish the night, my party moved inside to the bar in the basement (Bazos pub) of the resort to avoid the swarms of bugs. When we entered the pub, we told the servers we were there for drinks and dessert. Ten minutes later, a hostess came to our table telling us that they don’t seat any parties for just drinks who aren’t there to dine. The bar had more open tables than people in the room, when we mentioned this, the hostess was rude and then our party didn’t see a server for at least 30 minutes. We had to go to the bar to order a drink because we didn’t get any service. The music in the pub was great but the employees were extremely rude to us. Given that we went down there to escape the bugs we experienced at the terrace upstairs, it was overall a negative experience. I would not recommend this...
Read moreDefinitely the worst experience of our entire Boston/Cape Cod trip. We just stopped off for a cocktail and the view. The bartenders were so indifferent, the bar such a dirty mess with dirty glasses and flies everywhere, and outdated menus with prices that are cheaper than what you are actually charged.
After waiting 20 minutes for one of the very slow bartenders to ask our drink order, we ordered a beer and Chandon Rosé, which was listed for $13 a glass. Ordered a second one about 30 minutes later, then finally flagged down a new guy to provide our check. Check comes - the Rosé is actually $18 a glass. Had to request a manager to back it out. She never even acknowledged our existence much less apologized. Then as we were leaving, the parking attendants didn’t offer to point the correct direction out of the parking lot. Not one person said hello, goodbye, thanks for coming - it was such a stark difference to every other place we visited. I can’t imagine ordering food there much less staying at this hotel. It appears to be a very nice place, but they need new management and employees who actually care about service. Do not recommend.
Oh. The couple sitting to our right where there for at least 25 minutes before being acknowledged by the bartender. There were less than 10 people total at the bar, and maybe 5 tables on the...
