Azteca — Restaurant in Bridgeport

I do not recommend take out here! Produce was rotten and we went to tell the cashier they didn’t want to refund us. The workers refuse to recognize their errors it’s the third time I’ve had a bad experience here. I received tacos de birria with a roach in it (decided to not order takeout here anymore after this) and in another occasion guacamole with a strand of hair in it when I went back to tell them they said it’s not their fault they “know what they’re doing” And one time my husband went to buy a CALLING CARD “boss revolution” and the lady said they use new methods for international calling they supposedly activated his phone for an international call and the next month our bill came $400 more than what normally is expected due to the international call not being activated the lady was obviously distracted and added funds to the phone in Guatemala which was not what we asked for, we went back to ask for a solution or at least an apology and the lady at the window said “that’s your fault not ours” what kind of customer service is this?! I totally agree with Daze. The staff is wonderful but the food lacks flavor. A restaurant owner should not buy a chicken, cow and pig, chop them up, throw them on a fire and serve tasteless meats. There is a lot of competition out there especially for Mexican Food so a restaurant's food has got to be outstanding. Another thing I hate is being served "baby food style" portions of food in my tacos. Do you have to finely chop up the meats so small that they lack texture, flavor and are unappetizing? Azteca is not the only Mexican restaurant that does this. It's a trend with food trucks as well. The bottom line is this. The only thing good here are the drinks. The service wasn’t that good and neither is the food. Not worth it to me. My server did not check on us and did not listen to me n my spouses requests. She forgot we said no onions and cilantro on the side. She also only made 1 drink even though I asked for 1 for me 1 for my spouse. The chips for the salsa were stale, the shrimp tacos were bland, beef & chicken tacos were dry. I wasn’t pleased with any of it. I get Mexican food all the time... it’s my favorite. I get Mexican food from a different place all the time... that I really like so I’m not over exaggerating when I say this. I came to this place because a co-worker recommend it and they were highly rated in a magazine or article.....
