Taco King — Restaurant in Bridgeport

I’ve had the “large” burrito a couple times from here and they’re solid but def isn’t a “large” burrito. I wonder what a small looks like in that case.

I’ve also recently had the steak and shrimp tostada bowl and it was so bad. I paid almost $16 for 3 shrimps and 5 super thin SALTY strips of cold steak. Both of these sitting on top of what seems like a bunch pre packaged lettuce. It just isn’t worth it and the taste was bad. This def isn’t the authentic Mexican. Without saying much else, just don’t get the tostada bowl.

Also, you can’t call yourself an authentic Mexican spot and not have home made sauces. They use that mild salsa you buy at the grocery store. Nasty red sauce. I need that HOME MADE salsa verde. Not...

Service sucks! I've never tried this place before and you would think they would have some type of resturant etiquette. I called in and a girl picked up the phone and just said "hello"? I didn't even think I was calling the right place. No "Taco King", or "how may I help you"?.... nothing, just "hello"? I slowly started to order hoping they would get it right, which they didn't. She sounded like she just got up from sleeping. She said the order would be ready in 10mins. That made it feel like it wasn't fresh at all. I went to pick it up and the front door was locked!? They had to buzz me in like I was entering a prison cell! The rice was stale and the chicken seemed very low quality. First and last...

Pros: They followed my order intructions & the lettuce was fresh..also, the shrimp & steak were pretty good, as in flavor.

Cons: the lack of being welcomed in the store. Upon arrival there was a male and female at the front. No customers inside. Lady was about to give me the wrong order. She was slicing up the steak, which is fine, but I also noticed she left a piece uncut on the board. I end up getting 7 small, thinly sliced steak ( see pic ). Which is unfortunate tbh. This was my go to spot when I lived in BPT and I was hoping to get the same service at the front desk and with the food. Would I come again? More than likely no.. not worth the drive or the money & time I spent...
