Hardee's — Restaurant in Bridgeton

Countless times have I let this place slide, because as a resident of Bridgeton I know how bad they are. But today really made me mad, I got the 5 piece chicken tender meal with a substitute of fries for the slaw. First off there were barely any fries with the extra side of fries. The bread that comes with the meal was super wet and burnt. I wanted to try the new chicken sauce, but as I got my food she then told me they were out of chicken dip sauce and she just threw in some other sauces I never asked for nor hinted at wanting AND to make it all worse the 5 pieces of chicken I did get were all nuggets except maybe one that would be considered a small tender. This meal was $12 and that was with a small drink that they did get wrong. This whole meal was a complete joke. Horrible employees every time I go there. They said it was busy and sorry for the wait, when I got there, there were 4 cars in line and literally 1 person inside. The wait was so bad one of those cars in front of me left and I saw what he ordered was just a big cheeseburger. There is literally always something wrong with my order every time I go EVERYTIME. The people who rated this place above a 3 star must've gone during the morning with a whole entire different crew. I know no one will see this and care, but if you happen to see this review PLEASE go somewhere else for food. Its literally 7 more minutes to get to New Bern or James City and the food is at least gonna be decent. Don't give this place your business or money. (the only reason this is getting 2 stars and not a 1 is because the chicken and fries were cooked fresh. But they don't excuse the sorry food nor the sorry...

We tried the chicken sandwich and the standard smaller burger with fries for each. We ordered, fixed our drinks and sat down. Service was very prompt. I don't know the deal with Hardee's but you would think that they could get two simple sandwich items right. Nope, not today.

The chicken taste was off, almost like a slight fish taste and way over cooked or had been sitting for a while. I assume the grease may need to be switched out. The mayo used on the sandwich was thicker than normal mayo and lacked the slight lemon tang associated with "real mayonnaise". The pickles were there, for all the good it would do to improve what I was served.

The burger was just some haphazardly assembled abomination of a burger. If you compare the menu item board picture to what we received you would not have any idea where it came from. Don't people realize that presentation is part of the experience? And please add the normal condiments requested, evenly across the sandwich so they blend.

Lastly, while the fries were indeed hot, they needed about 2 more minutes to achieve crispness. Hot, translucent, greasy fries. Must be a new menu item I missed.

While we were there a food delivery driver picked up an order to be delivered that had been sitting on the rack for a few minutes. By the time that order rides to it's destination someones in for a treat.

I made an order at around 8:30 pm. I ordered the garlic bread 1/3 lb thickburger with the small garlic fries, with nother order for the 10pc chicken tenders. They were running a deal for a half gallon tea free with a purchase of the 10pc. As we start to leave the parking lot we realize we didn't get the sweet tea, so we turn around and go back through to only be told they didn't have any of the containers for the sweet tea we asked if we could just get something in exchange for the tea and was told no. After arguing with the lady with an attitude at the drive through who wasn't wearing a name tag she finally says hold on and comes back a half gallon of sweet tea. Why that was a huge deal is beyond me, the promotion offers a half gallon and since she forgot to give it to us she in turn didn't want to give it to us??? We got the tea and it was fine, now granted we only live 5 min down the road, so we get home and pull everything out to eat and everything is cold, the fries were stale and soggy, my garlic bread thickburger didn't even taste nor look like it had any garlic on it whatsoever, even the I guess garlic puff things on the burger were stale and had the texture and crunch of a 3 day open bag of Cheetos which had no flavor.
