Update: I have lowered your star score due to your response! I don't appreciate the blame being shifted back to the consumer.
Not bad location and the service was excellent. I deducted one star from the food for the portion size I got the salmon and it was really small even for the lunch portion and did not include sides. It was cooked well and had good flavor just too small of a portion. But I'm sure they provide the best food portion they can giving what food costs are these days. I deducted one star from the atmosphere due to a heavy presence of flies inside the restaurant and there is an odd smell to the place. Running an ion generator a couple times a month probably would not hurt them. All in all a good experience just for information purposes of those on the Healthy Carnivore or keto/paleo diet there are not many options. I'm sure they cook in the unhealthy seed oils everyone else does. Not at bad place to try if you're in the area and they were very friendly but I doubt I will eat there again due to the odor of the place, It wasn't very appetizing I'm sorry to say. I don't want to be negative I want them to have a good business but I have to be honest.
Update: response to your comments. It's not misinformation if it's an opinion. The odor was mildly offensive to me, I'm sure if you live there and locals go there every day it seems "normal". I do not mean to be offensive just a personal observation. There was however and extraordinary abundance of flies that was a bit concerning that could be dealt with. It could've just been a bad day and you are near a large body of water but it was still but annoying. I would recommend anybody try... And form their own opinion of your establishment. My views and opinions are mine and anything negative I would absolutely expect you to not accept. I simply suggest an ion generator because it would give a much "Fresher" atmosphere which is difficult to achieve next to a large body water. I would love to hear other people's opinions who have been to our establishment who are not from the area and maybe not"Desensitized". I would also like to be perfectly clear your restaurant was not unclean. I found it to be a very pleasant atmosphere but my...
Read moreThe first time we ate here was for our wedding anniversary August 2024- I hade the 16 oz herb crusted prime rib with loaded baked potato and asparagus- it was delicious! 5 stars ⭐️ my husband had French dip and was very good. We came back tonight to celebrate Christmas season and were very disappointed! I got the same thing- the prime was delicious but room temp and no crust- I ate it because I was hungry but disappointed. My husband unfortunately got the shrimp and grits for the first time in his life and it was a HUGE disappointment! It had a weird seasoning and overly sweet taste. We let our server know because she asked how everything was. She had the manager come over who said it’s a matter of preference and that the restaurant has great customer feedback on the dish- well except for ours. I asked if we could only pay for the about 2/3 thirds of the shrimp my husband ate (only because he was hungry and not as weird taste) and they said no and offered for us to take a large size of overly greasy weirdly seasoned grits to go. I said no thank you- they offered anything else to order and again I said I don’t want to pay for food we didn’t like or eat. Who is ok for paying for food they didn’t eat? We will not eat here again, we are not valued customers and all the locals support this place and likely never speak up on the matter of not liking something. What I don’t understand is how they were willing to give us some other food (that we didn’t want) but forcing us to pay for food we didn’t eat! My husband said, if we were smart we would’ve said yes to some other food better than getting ripped off for food we didn’t eat. But we just paid the bill in full $75 and left a $25 tip for our disappointment and lesson learned to not come back...
Read moreI've visited the former establishment Lamplighter several times over the last few years. Each time I left disappointed and due to lack of options, eventually broke down and went again. To be honest I wasn't expecting Bridgewater to be much different, and I was pleasantly surprised!
The staff were attentive and promptly seated my wife and I. Once sitting, the waitress quickly grabbed our drink orders and appetizers. Previously at lamplighter, the cocktails were pourly mixed and tastes like cheap flavored vodka. Although pricier then I'd like, I ordered the $9 Blood Orange Spritzer. It was great!
For an appetizer we order the spinach crab dip. We actually enjoyed the crab dip lamplighter used to serve, however this dip was great also in its own way. Though it lacked a sufficient enough of crab meat for my liking, there were subtle hints of crab a d the taste was great. Additionally the chips served were lightly and uniquely seasoned, making them something you'd like to eat by themselves.
For dinner I had the Prime rib with parmesan mashed potatoes and asparagus on the side. The prime rib was absolutely great. The food quality is definitely leaps above what had been previously served in years past under the Lamplighter name. The prime rib was tender, juicy and rivaled Angus Barn in Raleigh. The parmesan mashed potatoes were great. Absolutely great. We left full with no room for dessert, but are thankful we now have a new quality restaurant in our immediate vicinity.
Second review in as many months - Service was fast, pleasant and the pimento cheese burger was very delicious. Happy to continue eating at the Bridgewater...
