Iâve been coming to El Charro for over 8 years, introducing countless friends and family and always ordering the same meal. Itâs been my go-to spot⌠until now.
Recently, they changed the menu and prices. My meal went up significantly, and now they charge $3 per burrito to have cheese dip instead of salsa. This is not listed on the menu, and my server never told me this would be an extra $6 total. In the past, this substitution was $2.75 for both burritos, and on two separate occasions after the menu change, managers told me the $6 charge wasnât correct, that they were still figuring out the new menu, and they refunded me.
Today, when I brought it up again, the manager came out and was immediately rude and dismissive. She told me, âthatâs just how it is,â and that if I wasnât willing to pay, I needed to âthink about my order.â The way she said it made me feel like she was calling me broke â which was insulting and completely uncalled for. She didnât listen to a single point I made, including the fact that the $5 cheese dip appetizer has far more queso than whatâs put on the burritos. Itâs absurd that in the future I could just order the cheese dip appetizer and get more for less money.
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but after this interaction, I left feeling disrespected...

I went here on break with a friend. The service was terrible. My server could not speak English at all. I asked for a Supreme Burrito with no tomatoes. Then asked "does this come with anything on the side?" She gave me a puzzled look and asked "tomatoes?" I knew what she meant so I repeated "No, no tomatoes. But does this come with a side?" She again looked puzzled and instead of asking another coworker to clarify. She just nodded her head and walked away. Me and my friend were confused to say the least...
We got our dishes in a timely matter (hence the two star) but when I received my dish, it was an uncovered burrito with tomatoes on the side. I never asked for uncovered OR tomatoes and told her this. She again, smiled and nodded and mumbled what sounded like "enjoy". And seeing as this place was already sketchy (and with my time constraint) I didn't want to risk her taking my food back and then receiving a burrito with who-knows-what's inside, I just continued to eat what I didn't ask for.
She never did the typical check up and ask "is everything okay?" She just peeked over every now and then and came back after we were finished and dropped the check.
Definitely ranks as one of the worst restaurant experiences in...
Read moreOn Saturday March 1st my 14 year old Daughter and I went for dinner around 4:30pm at the Bridgewater location I ordered the carnitas plate and when they brought it to the table there was very little carnitas and a whole lot of the rest of what it comes with. When I asked my server she sent the manager. The manager immediately stated that prices had gone up and that was the reason why the portions were so small and that the menu prices were about to increase. I said: then raise the price but do better with the portions. When I pointed out the amount of meat compared with the amount of the rest of the stuff in my plate, I said "NO FRIEGEN" which to me it means are you kidding me? She stated that she was offended because she is a lady and I shouldn't be using that type of language with her. Like if I had said a bad word. After that I knew I was getting no where with her. I got upset and I asked her to leave my table and let me eat in peace. I believe she needs more training to deal with the customers. She made it about herself instead of doing her job as a manager. She made the situation worst instead of...
