Sugar & Bean Cafe — Restaurant in Bridgewater

We're visiting and wanted to try one of the local cafes coffee. Ordered two large coffees, a honey lavender latte, and wanted to get some different type of tea. We were pleased with the first three drinks, but the London fog we ordered wasn't quite what we were expecting. No harm, no foul, we asked to swap for another honey lavender instead since that one tasted amazing.

After the server said "no problem," the manager came to us later and said they do not provide exchanges or refunds. They stated they are a small business and it's not company policy.

If I'm paying for a premium coffee, I'm not expecting a refund, but a remake should be a no-brainer. I was fully expecting to come back every single day for the next week to purchase that honey lavender latte. It was that good. Love that a cafe opened up and wanted to flow money in.

There are few gems in our community as fine as Sugar and Bean. I love taking my kids here. We usually have the upstairs room to ourselves where we play board games. Has a real cozy feel. The food is great, my daughter loves the breakfast sandwiches (begs me to make it at home but I can't). Seems odd that a few reviewers said rude staff, perhaps those reviewers did not actually eat the breakfast sandwich? I did not encounter any rude staff at all--quite the opposite actually. Food came quickly, I was treated respectfully and even my kids were treated with dignity (I make them order their own food at restaurants so they learn to talk to adults).

The high reviews of this place are what attracted me. But, my experience was not very good. Pros: it's a cute place, the maple pecan blondie was delicious Cons: we couldn't order the sandwiches we wanted because the grills were down already, 2 hours before closing. We were told the lattes would be sweet, and they were not. I ordered the coconut vanilla latte and could not taste either flavor. The smoothie bowl is literally a smoothie in a bowl with fruit & a spread on top, not thick like a real smoothie bowl is supposed to be. Customer service was not great either. It seemed as though we hassled the girl. I'm not sure if it was a bad time or what, because like I said, the good reviews are what led me there.
