The baked goods are incredible. The best cookies and many other offerings. The bread is amazing. Their "bread sticks" are absolutely delicious. They also sell heros and Italian foods and goods. Very friendly staff. It's waaay too easy to drop a hundred or more in here. I also buy breads and cookies and send them to a friend in Freeport NJ. That's how good it is. Even good enough for me to spend $40 on Ubers back and forth. Yep ...that good!!!! UPDATE 09/15/23: While their baked goods are very good I was disgusted by someone who appeared to be the manager there. I was there 2x today with my service dog. I was paying for my purchase and the woman came out in front of many people in the store and said very loudly that I have to pick up my dog (which would have put it at counter level). I stated that it is a service dog and she stated " Ok, but you have to pick it up". I was a bit embarrassed that she said that in front of so many people but she should be way more embarrassed by making ignorant remarks to me and presenting herself like she has no knowledge of ADA laws !!!! This is disgusting. I will be filing a complaint with the ADA , and can only hope that she learns both the laws and some manners.

First time at Aversa's. I was excited because it was busy which is usually a good sign. First the good. The pizza was not bad. The sauce and toppings were nice but the crust was just ok Next the bread (best thing we got). We got a sesame seed baguette which was crusty and delicious. Finally, the sweets. The cream puffs were pretty good and the moose cake was moist and had nice flavor. The Napoleon was stale and tasted like old refrigerator and the other chocolate cake we got also tasted old. We tossed both of them. I think if we got fresh pastries we would have had a much better experience. I know this happens at bakeries sometimes but the best bakeries make sure that they're checking and rotating their products so they don't sell their customers sub par products. I'll give them another shot but if I have a similar experience I don't think I'll return.

From a bakery standpoint, this place is fairly disappointing. The only things I really like are the cheese pockets, turnovers and crumb cakes. The other pastries are average to bad.

The brownies are dry, the French Napoleons taste like they're filled with vegetable shortening with powdered sugar, and the cakes are average at best.

If you want cake, cookies or pastries, go to Acme. They make good brownies, killer strawberry shortcake, and in general everything tastes like I expect it to.

The one thing Aversa's does well is sandwiches. The bread is really good, whether you buy a loaf or a sandwich, and the filling is really good, too.

As much as I love their Italian sandwiches, you have to check what you get. I always order it with oil and vinegar, but it's anyone's guess whether I'll get it that way. I can't tell you how many times it's been a dry sandwich. When they make it right, it's great. But check it before you leave or you may be disappointed.

The staff is ok. I've been there enough times over three years that you'd think they'd be friendly, but they don't seem to notice. They're not unfriendly or unhelpful, just sort of bland.

I've been to a lot of bakeries on the east coast, and this one is definitely at the bottom of my list. It's not bad, but it's not good either. I'd say if you want a sandwich, whether it's chicken parm, meatball or an Italian sub, it's good quality - just make sure you get what you ordered.

If you want a good bakery, don't expect too much. It's ok, and you'll recognize early which things are good and...

The cakes are delicious nice and moist and the prices are reasonable. I gave this bakery a 3 because every time I go in there I feel rushed. The employees are not really friendly and there are so many goodies but they don't give you a chance to make up your mind geesh. I went in Aversa’s today 11/29/2022 an older gentleman that works in there was sitting outside when I walked up. When so went inside he came in the store and waited on me. I was getting individual pieces of cake and he didn’t wash his hands nor put gloves on. He started putting the plastic paper in the cake boxes and then he was getting ready to put the cake in the boxes. I said excuse can u please put on gloves because you just came from outside. He became combative. He kept saying that he is not touching the cake. I told him but u are touching the paper that the cake goes on. He kept saying stuff then finally he put gloves on. To Aversa’s Management staff/owner that is so unacceptable in the world that we are living in right now. People are still contracting the Corona virus amongst other illnesses. I don’t understand why he made a big deal of putting gloves on, that should be required especially after coming from outside. Come on Aversa’s I have been coming here for years but this is ridiculous. He is risking people’s health. He said he was touching the cake but the icing from the cake is all over the outside...
