First of all, that is my first 5 EVER! The wait in line was short, the customer service was good and, the product (ice cream) was excellent. I went there with 3 other people and, one of them that never finishes anything said that her milkshake was so good that she is going to finish it. I got a chocolate peanut butter milkshake and, it was good to the last drop. The price was good for all we got. The only MINOR glitch is that they sell water ice and I didn't see the water ice flavors. Usually I would deduct a star for that but, because everything else was perfect, I could not justify doing that. The variety of ice cream flavors is many and, the ones that I had at least, was definitely worth getting again. I always say that if I can't wait to go back and I constantly think about them, that they are top notch and I was thinking about this place for 3 years and, it was definitely worth the wait. Kudos to you Gibby's. I will be returning and it will take me a lot less than 3...
Read moreI haven't been to an ice cream place like this in over 20 years! This really took me back. Gibby's is a family owned ice cream parlor that's made ice cream since 1954. They're located on Veterans Hwy in Levittown not far from Bristol, PA. They have a variety of ice cream flavors. It was 23 today but whose counting! The options are soft serve, hard or yogurt ice cream on sugar or waffle cones. Other options were shakes, sundaes, gelatos, specialty sundaes and novelties such as ice cream sandwiches and chocolate banana pops. You can pre-order custom cakes. I purchased cake batter ice cream on a waffle cone with rainbow sprinkles. Oh my, I felt like a kid again! I had sticky fingers, ice cream dripping down my arms, an ice cream mustache & sprinkles all over my clothes. Fun times!!! Unfortunately, there were only five toppings if you didn't purchase a sundae. If you're anywhere near Levittown definitely try it! If you're several miles away...I'd still say try it. It's...
Read moreWhy would I drive 45 minutes to Gibby’s? Simple—I’d never tried “Teaberry” ice cream, and Gibby’s was the closest place serving this local Pennsylvania curiosity. Homemade, too.
So what exactly is “Teaberry” ice cream? It’s made from a tiny red Pennsylvania berry with a flavor that’s hard to pin down. Not quite mint, not quite spearmint, not quite wintergreen—but somewhere in that spectrum. That’s the aftertaste. The front taste? Totally different. The closest I can compare it to is old-school Bazooka gum.
So if you like Bazooka gum with a refreshing minty finish, all wrapped in the Pepto-Bismol-pink package, this might be your new favorite ice cream flavor.
Was it worth the drive to Gibby’s? Absolutely. Would I go out of my way to buy it again? Nope. Would I eat it if I saw it on another menu?...
