This quaint juice shop in a shopping center also sells activewear and toys for kids, so I was a little skeptical of what to expect.

The store was empty except for Roselaine, one of the proprietors, who greeted me with a kind smile. I ordered a juice, and she asked me if I would like to wait or return.

I was happy to wait, expecting the usual quick turn around that bulk juice shops deliver, and instead was pleasantly surprised to find the fruit and vegetables being peeled and chopped fresh, and then the kicker: they use a masticating juicer!

I have never been to a juice shop that didn't just obliterate the produce with a centrifugal juicer. Mastication is the correct way!

That said, it's a labor of love and took at least 10 minutes to prepare the juice, but I very much enjoyed the conversation I had with Roselaine during that time.

Smoothie and pastries were great but I placed my online pickup order for a smoothie and some of the beef breakfast pastries at 8:15, with it saying it'd be ready by 8:35. I didn't leave the restaurant until shortly after 9:00, and there was only ever 1 other customer there. 45 minutes for breakfast is simply stupid and a complete waste of time. The worker (there was only 1 lady working) tried giving me some excuse about how they were out of pastries and had to make new ones.....like ok, if it's going to take you 45 minutes to make a pastry, maybe tell your customer in advance? I got there at 8:30 and she hadn't even started on my smoothie yet as it seemed she was working on the other customer's order, so either a) get another worker or b) if you're out of pastries and need to bake new ones, maybe throw them in the oven when you get the order, not 25 minutes...
