10 Main Cafe & Deli — Restaurant in Bristol

Clean on the inside and spacious. 9/10 times when I go somewhere, I’ll generally get the food to go just so I can break it down when I want to give a full depth analysis on a place that hasn’t been recommended yet. It’s a deli/cafe that is on the inside/side of what looks like a medical building (but it’s not..at least I don’t think it is, lots of construction vehicles around). When walking inside, menu board to the left, tables and another menu to the right. Very large walking space so you don’t feel crowded when it gets busy. I wanted to give myself a choice of one of 2 sandwiches to try…the 10 Main or the Martino and as previous, I let someone else make the decision. I believe he’s the owner, but tall guy and very friendly, good personality joking with customers (I wasn’t the only one there)..told him to decide and he gave me the Martino. Ham, hot capicola, Genoa salami, lettuce, tomato, provolone cheese, homemade roasted peppers and long peppers on a 12” hoagie/sub/grinder. Bread is fresh, has that crunch on the outside but soft on the inside..perfect. There’s no way I’m gonna eat the whole thing in one sitting..has that great taste but the spice kick in the back end. There is a patio if you want to sit outside and get pestered by mosquitos and flys..but I’m sure that’s gotta be perfect when it’s not so hot or freezing cold. This is by far one of the best grinders that I’ve had in Bristol out of the 5 places I’ve been..granted, still more to go..but 10 Main definitely set the bar high. 5-stars across the board. We really enjoyed our signature deli sandwiches! We both had the #1 10 Main on hard rolls. I really liked the flavor from the spicy chipotle aioli that had the right amount of heat. You can tell the turkey is quality meat. The pickles are great too! The hard rolls are perfect for the sandwich. I also had a bite of the soup of the day, which was the Creamy Hot Sausage & Tortellini. It was a perfect bite. The spiciness of the sausage was calmed by the creamy broth and the tortellinis were cooked perfectly. I wish I got a cup to go. After meeting the owner, I learned that a lot of the food is locally-sourced, even the soda and goodies they sell! The hard rolls are from the Harvest Bakery and they are so fluffy, not dense, and have a nice crisp. We also got 2 Foxon Park sodas and want to try Avery's next time. There's a lot of food this deli sells that is local and that I want to try! The service was excellent, everyone was friendly and they even brought our food outside to us on the side patio. The location of the deli is a little hard to find, but there is plenty of signage. It's on the first floor of an office building in the center of Bristol (surrounded by many things to do). You can tell they put in work to make it work as a deli, and it does work. There's also plenty of off-street parking. It is not easy to mess up a simple bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich as they are very simple. However, it is also not easy for a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich make me pull back after the first bite and take a second look at it as if I saw a lover from a past life. The sandwich I was served this morning was far from an ordinary BEC, it was exceptionally decadent and had me thinking of it all day. To my suprise, the eggs were not fried. I believe they were poached or soft boiled? Which made for a pleasant velvety texture that brought me to Flavor Town pairing with the sweet, tangy and crisp bacon. When I tell you I did not expect anything more than a simple sloppy fried breakfast sandwich on my morning commute, I could not have been more suprised or delighted by what I was served instead. This is the best BEC I have ever had. So very simple, but I could taste every ounce of dedication in each bite.

Staff was super friendly, attentive and the restaurant very clean; I appreciated seeing all of the commodities from local vendors. This place will absolutely be bringing me back with...
