We had a periodic family get-together at The Main Street Pint & Plate on 8/22/18. It's in a very nicely remodeled, old brick building in a neighborhood that is quickly improving & gaining status in Bristol. The interior had partially exposed brick walls and high tin ceiling in a style that is becoming popular in pubs in many towns in Connecticut. Very warm, and appealing, if a bit loud when they're busy. Upon entering the bar area, we were immediately greeted by a very friendly hostess, and seated in a separate dining room that is on a level about three steps higher than the bar area, so the noise of the bar didn't impede our quiet dinner conversation. Our server came very shortly after to take our drink orders. The menu is not very extensive, but offers a good number of options plus specials. A small menu done well is superior to a long one with mediocre offerings. My sister and my cousin's hubby ordered the short rib entrée, while my cousin had a bacon cheeseburger and I requested the salmon burger with cheddar cheese & house made dill tartar sauce. onion rings and a side order of mac & cheese. Both who had the short rib commented on the quality of their meal, tender, good tasting, and cooked as requested. My salmon burger was extremely good. Very flavorful, and was also quite large. The dill tartar sauce was ok, but only because I'm not a fan of dill. Perhaps they could offer a more traditional tartar sauce as an option. The macaroni & cheese was good....."better than average", but maybe could have used different, or maybe more kinds of cheese. When it came time for dessert, I had the cocoanut creme brûlée, and my cousin's hubby opted for the peach bourbon upside-down cake. Both were declared excellent. My sister said the coffee was awful. I didn't have any. Service was very prompt and timely. A nice touch was that the chef came to each table to ask patrons how their respective meals were. I'm guessing we will meet here again for a family dinner, since we all enjoyed the food, service,...

Made reservations for 6. Meeting friends that haven’t got together in awhile. Wait staff was immediately trying to rush us to order and not all our people were there yet. Several times tried to force us to order by waiting over my shoulder. We asked if they could please get the drinks while we looked at the menu. She wanted us to order drinks and apps and dinner all at once. We get drinks and are rushed to order apps. We get nachos and had to request the salsa a few times and never get it. Just served chips and cheese. The fried zucchini and mozzarella comes out and it’s a ball of melted mess. Horrible. We again are being rushed to order. We ask questions about the meals and order. The meals come except for one. The waitress does not realize one is missing she ask me where it is. I say how do I know. We wait while all our meals get cold for our friends meal to come. The fish and chips were complete mush. Not crispy just mushy uncooked doughy mess. Two of us ordered fish and chips and didn’t eat it. Another ordered the Mac and cheese and it was suppose to have a special cornbread topping. Came plain like a boxed Mac and cheese. Horrible. She keeps trying to clear our plates before we are done. We are obviously being rushed. We want coffee and desserts. We order. One dessert is missing she again ask where it is. My reply is the same. How am I to know. We are sipping our coffee and eating our dessert when she begins to clear coffee cups we haven’t even finished. She stands in the corner with her coat on then says I can’t go until you go. We paid the bill and grabbed our coats and left. I will never eat there again. Not only was the food horrible the service was too. The inside is very nice if you want a cocktail and a guitarist was playing that was nice but I would not order...

This place really is great! First time coming here and it was very full (Friday night). We didn't have reservations, but our wait wasn't too long--we did luck out as a table for 4 was just clearing out. The hostess was very pleasant, gave us a wait time, but promptly sat us. Our two waitresses were amazing, gave us attention, but didn't smother us nor ignore us, definitely a healthy balance!!

Food, what can I say, great choices on the menu. Truly does cater to those with allergies. If there was something you wanted that wasn't safe, they are willing to accommodate should they be able to! They have the Beyond Burger and Vegan Style BBQ Jackfruit Pulled Pork Sandwich for those who are Vegan; they also carry Gluten Free bread!! My husband ordered the Brussels Sprouts & RJ's BBQ Brisket Sandwich (because he's Gluten Free, he could not have the sauce), but it was really great! I had a simple House Salad with Grilled Chicken (sans the croutons and dressing as I am Gluten Free as well). Our friends had the Mac and Cheese and a Caesar Salad with a special request of Buffalo Cauliflower on her salad. All were quite delicious!

Drinks, I only drink wine and the selection was nice. I cannot comment on the beer/cocktails, however I hear great things!!

The atmosphere, as I mentioned in the beginning, was very lively. They had live music playing and it wasn't obnoxiously loud where you couldn't hear each other speak.

All in all, I highly recommend this place. It was...

AJ Served us, and he was just awesome. Great sense of humor, super chill, overall great guy. The service was FAST, too- it took maybe less than 5 minutes for us to get our apps, and about that for the entrees, maybe slightly more. Onto the food- I ordered the juke burger. I asked for medium rare, and it was, in fact, medium rare as I asked. I can’t say the same about a lot of places I’ve been to. It was delicious- it had a super soft texture to it and almost melted in my mouth. Compliments to the chef! It gets better, though. AJ served us his own homemade cheesecake, and lemme tell ya, this guy is a prodigy. It was also incredible as you’re probably guessing. This place really blew me away, big ups and will definitely be coming here more often.
