Greer's Chicken — Restaurant in Bristol

Went here for the first time in a while. Got there around dinner time and it was pretty steady the place is pretty cramped so atmosphere wise it's tough to be comfortable while waiting for your food. The service is always great though everyone is super friendly and pretty fast for what food you're getting.

Nothing crazy ordered tonight some assorted chicken, a potato salad and sweet potato fries.

I was starving and I dug into the chicken and there wasba nice crispy outside layer of the chicken and on the inside was underwhelming. The chicken was pretty flavorless. The skin was the only thing that really gave it much flavor. Luckily I asked for some dipping sauce which both the ranch and honey mustard were good but still didn't help the chicken. Maybe next time I'll get something already doused in a sauce.

Sweet potato fries I'm sure we're crispy at the time of my order but take out they did get a little soggy but still had a decent crisp and good flavor.

Potato salad was good as well, not too much mayo which is a plus and I happen to really enjoy and real egg can be found in every bite.

Visit March '16 Interestingly the high reviews seem to be from locals, however after trying this place I can say I wasn't amazed by the chicken. In combo meals, for every four pieces one will be 1x breast,thigh,drum,wing - in a 10 piece order the final two pieces were drums, not even a thigh. The skin is actually pretty good not bad, lightly salted - the meat however has no flavor, some pieces weren't even fully cooked as there was blood in the meat. I've had better chicken, this is no way is southern style chicken, maybe southern bristol chicken. The sides were pretty solid in my opinion, onion rings were humungous - perhaps the best I've ever had. The cole slaw, and chicken mac salad were good to- the potato salad lacked flavor, to bland in my opinion. The mash was good but the gravy was disappointing - no flavor/ bland.

Now theres another chicken shack in town l, might just buy their chicken and the sides from this place.

10 piece chicken and baby sized...

As a Bristol resident, every time I drive by the place, my stomach just churns. Went there with high hopes since a lot of people had recommended the place. Ordered the chicken leg and thighs to go, along with some liver and gizzards. The good things first: the staff at the counter was very nice and friendly. The chicken liver and gizzards were awesome! Now the bad: I made the mistake of thinking the chicken was going to be as great as the liver and gizzard. But damn! The chicken was definitely not cooked properly. The “smell” was there with each bite. Then couple of pieces looked slight pinkinsh. There were little to no seasonings. It felt like I was biting into almost raw chicken, the smell didn’t help either. Apparently u don’t have to work too hard to mess up fried chicken.
