My friend and I stopped here for lunch on Sunday April 27th a little after noon for lunch. We have already been here twice before and really enjoyed it so it’s becoming one of our favorite local places for lunch on Sundays.
The restaurant had only been open for an hour, so it wasn’t too busy. By the time we left though it was mostly filled with customers. We were greeted promptly and seated. Service was prompt, courteous and welcoming.
For an appetizer we ordered Goi Bo which is like a beef salad. It consists of Beef (Raw. With shredded carrots, cabbage, fresh meat, roasted peanuts, onions, and homemade dressing.) The beef was tender and flavorful and the remaining vegetable ingredients were as fresh as could be. Be warned though, this is a large mound of an appetizer. It can easily be shared by at least 2-3 people.
For entrees we ordered the #23 Pho Dac Biet (Special Combination Beef Noodle Soup) (With eye round steak, flank, brisket, tendon, and tripe. Normal size is Large.) The broth was one of the best pho broths we have had. It was a nice deep flavor to it. The beef was tender and very much loaded with tendon, tripe and other beef components.
The second entrée we ordered was the number 46 Hu Tieu Mi Dac Biet (Deluxe Combination Noodle Soup) Topped with sliced pork, shrimp, squid, imitation crab, pork, choice of yellow or rice noodle. Again, the broth was delicious. It was flavorful and nice and light without being an overpowering seafood taste. It also was loaded with all the accompanying ingredients.
The last items we ordered were an avocado shake and a Vietnamese iced coffee. Both drinks were nice and cold and refreshing.
Overall, we really like the food, ambiance and staff here. We would definitely recommend this...
Read moreI'm upset it took me so long to try this place! I usually only go to one pho spot (just because I'm loyal) but after moving it wasn't as realistic. We got delivery through Uber eats but everything was dine-in quality.
Pho 89 is INCREDIBLE. We got Bun Rieu (crab noodle soup), Broken Rice w/BBQ Beef, Beef Salad, Spring Rolls w/pork skin, Peapod Stems w/Garlic, and coconut water and fresh sparkling limeade.
Bun Rieu - AMAZING. Lots of meat, tofu, tomato, and shrimp. My only complaint is the packaging - they sent the noodles and soup itself separate which is ideal, but the container for the noodles was a styrofoam box. Would be better in a take-out bowl so it's easy to pour the soup over the noodles. But, not that big of a deal. The taste was awesome and there was LOTS.
Beef Salad - some of the best I've ever had. The size was remarkable, the container was SO heavy and it was well worth the money. Tangy, fresh, delicious.
Spring Rolls - awesome and I've never seen such huuuuge spring rolls in my life. I received fish sauce instead of peanut sauce which was disappointing but again, not a big deal.
Peapod Stems with Garlic - can't go wrong. It's so hard to find this on menus and it's one of my favorite side dishes.
Broken Rice w/Korean BBQ Beef - 10/10. Lots of beef, charred slightly and caramelized like it should be.
Can't wait to try them for...
Read morePho 89 offers a delightful dining experience that stands out for its exceptional food and warm hospitality. I had the pleasure of trying their spicy chicken pho, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The broth was rich and flavorful, perfectly infused with spices that gave it a satisfying kick without overwhelming the palate. The chicken was tender, and the fresh herbs added a vibrant touch that enhanced the overall dish.
What truly made my visit memorable, however, was the incredible hospitality. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that I felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout my meal. They were eager to share recommendations and made sure my dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish.
Overall, Pho 89 is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine, especially if you’re a fan of pho. The combination of delicious food and exceptional service makes it a standout choice in the area. I look forward to returning to explore more...
