Kofu Sushi — Restaurant in Broken Arrow

Hands down, this is my FAVOURITE sushi place to order from. They cross so much off my list, and have continued to do so for years! I can't believe how long it's taken me to remember to write a review.

To summarise, if you want a TLDR Their Food is FANTASTIC!! Not just the sushi itself, but their entire menu. Portions are perfect, and I genuinely never feel like I'm being cheated out of an actual meal like some other restaurants. They're affordable/budget-friendly but not cheap in the sense that the ingredients are low-end and effortless. The family that runs this establishment has been entirely pleasant. They've left an incredible impression and never faltered on their friendliness.

I'll get more in depth now, because a simple run-of-the-mill summary doesn't do justice here.

To start: Their sushi is the highlight of my common (and relatively frequent!) experiences there– but it isn't the only thing you should order! Their Soba is fantastic, it's never missed the mark for me. The miso soup is perfect too. Never too strong, but still so flavourful. They get you at that gorgeous middleground and they don't go overboard with just one ingredient– it's always balanced well.

However, the Sushi IS insanely impressive!!! I have several rolls that I tend to stick to, but I've explored others as well. No matter what I've ordered from their sushi selection, all of it has come out perfectly. Be it Dine in or Take Out, the food is just /perfect./ I can't state it enough.

The sushi comes out just as organised as the miso. All ingredients balanced and never too much of one thing overpowering other flavours. They know exactly how to put their rolls together. I've seen many places that use cream cheese in their rolls that add WAY too much, and other places that skimp on the fish and leave more to be desired. Kofu doesn't do this, and that's part of why they are my first choice– ALWAYS!

When you think the list can't go on, they keep impressing. The family that runs this business just give off such warm and inviting energy. Funny, Friendly, Laid Back, and they've always greeted me enthusiastically when I come in. They manage their tables well even when the small restaurant is busy or they have a large party.

To add to it all, through the many years I've come to Kofu, I've probably looked crazy with how much I change my style and hair, all of the new piercings, how my face has aged– and the Mother here who takes such good care of her customers has seemed to remember me through it all. She even recognises my orders when I place through Doordash or Uber Eats!

To top everything off, as I know this is one of the big factors for most folks: They're budget-friendly, and have remained so even when the economy began to push many businesses to bring prices up to stay afloat, Kofu tried to keep their increase reasonable. This extends to their prices through delivery apps as well.

This hole-in-the-wall restaurant deserves 10 stars without a doubt, but capping at 5 will have to do for this review. They've been nothing short of fantastic from day one. I hope to see them grow more down the line!

Where to start.. Everytime we have eaten at this restaurant they have gotten our order wrong. Every. Single. Time. The last two waitresses we have had have been unnecessarily rude, disrespectful, and just point blank unprofessional. They tried charging us for food we did not order and did not eat because they got our order wrong twice. When we simply said that we didn’t order this particular plate that was brought to us and that we had ordered something else the waitress said, “well no this is what you ordered” In a snarky tone. Then when we asked why we were paying for that food that we didn’t eat and didn’t order she said, “well what do you want me to do about that” again in a snarky tone throwing her hands all around. Save your money and go somewhere else that better deserves your time and money. This used to be a place we liked coming to because of how cheap it is but when you’re greeted over and over again with blatantly rude service upon just walking into the building it ruins it. The female owner is rude beyond rude! And had I known how dirty this restaurant was ahead of time, I would’ve never placed an order here. DO NOT place a door dash order with this place!! I arrived 10 minutes early to check in for my personal order pickup and stated my name clearly to the male and female owners. The woman confirmed and say “Ok” that it wasn’t ready and a gentleman’s was first. I waited another few minutes and the woman stated “hers isn’t even started”, so I confirmed it would be a little longer and waited in the car visible at front door. 15 minutes later I check in and they Claim they never got my order from DoorDash. The woman proceeded to tell me “whatever” when I reminded her she that she asked me 30 mins ago who I was there for and confirmed it when I walked in the door. All in all it took over an hour to get food and several other DoorDash and grub hub orders being processed before mine.
