I don't like writing a review like this, yet can't deny that as a longtime (10yr+) customer of Maxim's the service, dining experience and now even the quality of the food have all deteriorated a little at a time. First after covid they stopped serving warm fresh bread to dine-in customers. At they same time, there was a noticeable increase in prices. I get that, as business people we're all facing increased costs and trouble finding good help at a fair price. They have some long-term employees that are great... one Hispanic bus/table worker who's there for many years does a great job, he's always friendly and hustles as hard as anyone I've ever seen working in a restaurant. However, now the food AND kitchen service decline have become BOTH lower quality as well as attention to detail. Tonight I ordered two fish fry dinners to go. While the order was waiting at promised time at the register, upon arriving home I found one short one piece of fish - they come with 2 pieces, I paid an extra $3.50 for each for the third piece of fish... finding one with 2 one with 3. And to further detriment and disappointment- one was ordered with fries, one with potato pancakes. The potato pancakes are little more than Hash Brown patties, not tasting like any potato pancake I've ever had but disctingly hash browns. At just under $40, this may be my last time there.

Maxim's was our go to place for breakfast at any hour prior to the pandemic. We returned today for our usual breakfast and the menu has drastically changed. Along with a drastically downsized menu the prices were drastically higher than before. In fact, it doesn't matter what you order from the breakfast menu the prices are $12 or $13. My husband's eggs, bacon, toast and hash browns looked great, and he was very happy. I ventured to try something new. The pictures show you how beautiful my plate was presented. The stuffed french toast was very tasteful as well. The one taste I didn't care for was the cinnamon they incorporated somewhere. I would assume the cinnamon was folded into the eggs. Needless to say, the meal was great. I know how I will tweak my request next time, if there is a next time. Unfortunately, there are now better places with more food and better prices. Thank you Maxim's for all the great years of food and service, but we will be moving on.

I am very disappointed in their menu options. I had the 2 eggs with meat, which comes with 2 eggs, one meat choice, potato side and choice of bread. I went with scrambled eggs, bacon, white toast, and has browns. The best part was the bacon. Pancakes do not come with your meal so be prepared to pay extra. They are not cheap, $8.50 for two, however, they are huge. The hash browns were a little on the burnt side as well as the toast. Our server was very friendly. The atmosphere made it feel more like a school cafeteria rather than a restaurant. These tables were much closer than a cafeteria though, making it very difficult to walk by without touching someone. I have severe and multiple anxieties so this is not a place I want to be.

Good food, but terrible customer service. Really really bad. The server was unaccommodating and very rude. I was served a teaspoon size of mashed potatoes with the meatloaf, and when I asked if that was a normal serving size, she said "yep" and walked away. Then same server tried to take my plate away while I was still eating. I had to tell her "No" i'm not finished! So she wouldntw take my plate from me. Then we all ordered desserts and my dinner came with a free dessert. So I picked one out that she said was available "bannana cream pie", and when she came back with the desserts, she said they do not have that, but I can pick something out up front in the display case. So I got mine to go as a result and finally picked one out as we were leaving... And she charged us for the dessert!! I told the cashier about our situation and the manager was standing right behind her listening, and they just didn't care. The cashier said that's the way it is, and charged me anyway! I bit my tongue because I was with family, but I was very unhappy. That is why i'm writing this review. To say the least, I will never go back...
