While I'd love to give this experience zero stars -- because I got nothing but aggravation from this visit -- unfortunately that's not an option.
I tried to use the app for a $2 ten piece nugget deal. I was told the offer expired -- despite the fact I'd only loaded it a few minutes earlier -- and the clerk suggested I reload the app to try again (which I didn't think would work). When I followed the instructions, the app told me I'd have to wait 15 minutes before claiming an offer -- despite the fact I never got the first offer to work -- and manager said to just try again in 15 minutes, which is a ridiculous thing to ask somebody on their lunch break. Less than 8 minutes later, I was sitting down at Wendy's and already had my order -- and that was WITHOUT having to mess around with an app for what was probably a better deal anyway.
While this wasn't my first bad experience with the Federal Road McDonald's (which is sometimes great, sometimes not-so-great, and sometimes lousy -- and a few really lousy visits in a row are why I don't go there nearly as often, where I used to stop for lunch every day because it's convenient), but this is the first time it's really ticked me off. Read moreI understand you’re fast food., and not everyone visits McDonald’s on a regular. I noticed items on the menu, I didn’t realize they had. I knew what I wanted, I didn’t realize I could get it different ways! The drive thru was only available, so you couldn’t walk in at the time I arrived. I believe the manager was taking the orders over the intercom box system. I barely understood him due to his heavy accent, but to make matters worse, he rushed me through my order. I didn’t get the sandwich that I wanted and he didn’t even know about the $1.49 drinks in small, medium and large! I was trying to explain to him it’s on the sign I was looking at. He seemed very frustrated that we couldn’t communicate and that I asked questions! He is a man with very little patience and poor customer service! Read moreI used McDonald's New mobile order and pay app. Not only did it double things I ordered at the last second and charge me for it but there was supposed to be a coupon for 3 bucks off if I spent 10 and it didn't come off. When I complained about it the manager told me that they couldn't honor it because technically they didn't get the money. That didn't work for me. I argued my point and eventually they gave me my 3 bucks and I know that sounds petty but it was 25% of my payment. It's a bait and switch on pricing and the management was rude to me. As a consumer if I use your new technology and it doesn't work correctly I expect you to honor the pricing quoted without me having to argue for it.
