Abruzzi Pizza — Restaurant in Brookhaven

Wanted to update from my previous review. It has been a long time since I have ate here. And to my surprise the short stubby kid was here. But he was not so short and stubby anymore. He started to grow facial hair and looked a lot better. I guess they have been having him toss the pizza dough. Building character.

But his service was as great as ever. He did not remember me though which is okay I bet he has alot of people that come through. So I am updating my review to 5 stars this time.

I saw the review from Angel Hernandez and thought to myself "wow, if this man flew from Arizona to try this place, I need to try this place too"

I heard it was under new ownership so I was excited to go there. I was concerned the short stubby kid wouldn't be there since it was over a year ago Angel's review was done.

TO MY SURPRISE, I walked in and I was greeted by the short stubby kid at the front counter. He was really nice and welcoming to me and made me feel like I should have went there earlier.

I will be going back to this place not just for the food BUT for the short stubby kid and his service. 5/5 stars. If I could give 6/5 for the service that short stubby kid...

I have ordered pizza from Abruzzi for the last 15 years. Recently, I have started really loving the white pizza. I’ve ordered it at least 6 times and it has always been delicious and the right price.

Tonight I ordered a white pizza for pick up and I showed up 25 minutes after I placed the order and it looked like they had just recently put it in. It took at least another 10 minutes until I left with a pizza.

When I got home i opened the box and the pizza was pooled with oil and literally dripping. The pizza was undercooked and inedible. I called the restaurant to ask for a re-make and got a rude attitude from the cook. He said he’d make another if I brought the first pizza back. I brought it back and got a new pizza. The cook came and wanted to ask again why I sent it back and I made him open the box and he didn’t apologize or treat me like a paying customer at all. The second pizza also is not the same and is way over covered in oregano.

I honestly will be back because I have never had an issue like this before and the white pizza is usually so delicious. However, if this happens again, I will...

So I almost had a mistake to a hoagie I order in person here once, but we made sure to communicate about thw order enough to fix that issue. Now, here I am two nights later and the same issue happened except we could not remedy the issue because the shop closed for the night. Basically, everytime I order this modified order of a sandwich, it doesnt get made right. At all. I ordered an italian hoagie with basically just lettuce, onion oil and oregano with a bit of mayo. I did not order any tomatoes. I received an italian hoagie, or maybe a ham hoagie idk. With...american cheese, a few slices of salami, a lot of ham, some mayo, and tomatoes. The person I ordered for absolutely hates tomatoes and though we could pick them off, it was just too bare of a sandwich. So i had to give my meal away to him and eat the strange ham hoagie for dinner. I couldn't have my order fixed at all because they conveniently closed after making this mistake.
